Regional Playoffs Orlando Standouts: Frontcourt

<p>The Regional Playoffs have officially come to a close, and it was everything we would want to see as basketball fans! Teams battled it out all over the city of Orlando in what is one of the most talent-packed cities in the country. I was lucky enough to catch two huge games and scout a myriad of collegiate-level talent on the floor. Here were the games’ results:</p> <p><em>Oak</em> <em>Ridge</em> v. <em>Windermere, </em>Class 7A Region 2 Semifinals, 58-68 Oak Ridge wins</p> <p><em>Santa Fe </em>v. <em>Lake Highland Preparatory</em>, Class 4A Region 2 Finals, 51-49 Santa Fe wins</p> <p>Here were the 3 frontcourt standouts for these games:</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="818742" first="Miles" last="Stewart"], LHP, 6’7", 2021, Howard commit</strong></p> <p>Stewart had an incredible start to the game against Santa Fe, tallying 12 points on 4 threes. He cooled down a bit in the second half, but ended up with a great game and a huge impact for the Highlanders. His height makes getting 3-pointers off very easy for him, a skill that will help him embrace his stretch big position at the collegiate level. Howard is getting a stud who can score from anywhere on the floor.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="714783" first="Ernest" last="Ross"], Santa Fe, 6’8", NC State Commit</strong></p> <p>Ross is a bit passive on offense at times, and when he is, the Raiders (Alachua) come to a screeching halt. However, when he’s moving the ball well and getting to the rim, the Raiders are a completely different animal. He had just 8 points through the first 3 quarters, but a massive 12-point 4th quarter (including the game winning lay-up off lob) gave the Raiders an edge and a trip to Lakeland. His athleticism is unrivaled in his class and he will be the difference maker for the Raiders in the state playoffs.</p> <p><strong>Rodrick Henry, Oak Ridge, 6’6", 2021</strong></p> <p>Henry is a BIG guy. He’s super strong and can get downhill when he needs to. His dunking prowess was on full display against the Wolverines, and he was very hard to stop in the paint. He finished with a modest 9 points, but all of his points were huge momentum shifters for the Pioneers. His ability to throw down emphatic jams makes him a springboard for his team’s morale and was integral for the Pioneers shaking off the 13-point lead Windermere had built up. Watch out for him as his team takes a trip to Lakeland this week.</p>
