We recently updated our 2022 rankings on our website. This update saw a couple big changes, as we haven’t updated the rankings since the start of the high school regular season. [player_tooltip player_id="1041394" first="Chris" last="Livingston"] remains in the top spot, while I haven’t seen him yet this season, his numbers speak for themselves. Hoping to catch Livingston in the regional stage of the tournament if Buchtel makes it that far. The rest of the top 5 is [player_tooltip player_id="616817" first="Paul" last="McMillan IV"], [player_tooltip player_id="616810" first="Sean" last="Jones"], [player_tooltip player_id="921744" first="Evan" last="Mahaffey"] and [player_tooltip player_id="921738" first="Bowen" last="Hardman"].

Taking a look at the new faces near the top, [player_tooltip player_id="1138750" first="Sage" last="Tolentino"] is the highest new name on the list. Tolentino is an Auburn commit who moved to Hamilton from Hawaii. [player_tooltip player_id="1138751" first="Nick" last="Heath"] and [player_tooltip player_id="848282" first="Jayden" last="Nervis"] are two wing forwards from the Columbus area who also are new names to our rankings. [player_tooltip player_id="1138752" first="Jake" last="Leibacher"] is the next highest ranked prospect who didn’t appear at all in the last rankings.

Looking at some players who took major climbs, [player_tooltip player_id="809624" first="Elmore" last="James"] is the first prospect that comes to mind. While his ranking didn’t change that much, he really closed the gap between himself and other top 10 prospects in the state. I expect James to continue to show his advanced offensive game and see his recruitment really take off this summer. [player_tooltip player_id="921759" first="Javan" last="Simmons"] is another name who is much higher than before. Simmons is one of the most physical bigs in the state as he made the most of his opportunity this season. [player_tooltip player_id="809612" first="Tom" last="House"] and [player_tooltip player_id="921764" first="Ben" last="Southerland"] are two more prospects who saw pretty major climbs. House is a deadeye shooter who is hoping to lead Centerville to a deep playoff run. Southerland made the transfer to Sycamore from CHCA and really showed off his improved shooting and mobility at his size. [player_tooltip player_id="921762" first="Andrew" last="Harp"] and [player_tooltip player_id="921751" first="Luke" last="Denbow"] each had big time Junior seasons for their respective high schools, both get deserved boosts up the rankings

Should be an exciting AAU season where many prospects will continue to break out. I’m excited to continue to learn about college level prospects around the state.
