These players have already had a fantastic season and will continue that run into next season. During the offseason, I have high expectations for these athletes to take their game to another level. Take this note as a challenge to become even better!
Here are the players listed in no particular order.
Edward Witherington Edward Witherington 6'6" | NA lbs | PF Fairhope | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 6’6 F, Fairhope C/O 2022: I predict that this kid will have an outstanding senior year. Witherington is simply a player that can do it all. His aggressive play is just the tip of the iceberg of how great a player can become. He has a great post-up game but can also step out with his smooth midrange. He has the ability to push the ball on a fastbreak and make great decisions. He is a beast on the defensive end with his amazing shot-blocking. I would advise people to key an eye on Witherington, and I can see him being one of the top players next season.
Reese Gurner Reese Gurner 6'1" | NA lbs | PG Vestavia Hills | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 6’0 Guard, Vestavia Hills C/O 2022: Reese is a player that provides great energy for his team. He has great court vision with his quick passes. He has a great 3 pointer and a slasher when attacking the rim. Reese is an excellent defender; I am pretty sure he’s averaged 2 steals a game. He always knows where the ball is, which is a good trait to have as a player. I expect him to take his game to another level during the offseason.
Charlie McKimmon, 6’3 F, Moutain Brook C/O 2022: I can only describe this kid in one word “Fearless!” He is truly a joy to watch; he can literally cover the entire floor with his intense defense. He can find open teammates with his quick passes. He can score when needed and is always looking to get the ball back into his team’s possession. McKimmon does all the dirty work on the court. With Moutain Brook losing some key seniors next year, I can see him playing a bigger role in the offense next season.
Michael McGraw Michael McGraw 6'0" | NA lbs | PG Oxford | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 5’10 PG, Oxford C/O 2022: Michael has led his team to a successful regular season by running the offense alongside Rylan Houck Rylan Houck 6'5" | NA lbs | SF Oxford | 2022 State #NA Nation AL and Justin Moore Justin Moore 6'4" | SF Oxford | 2021 State AL . He is a top-notch player with a great jumper, an elite passer that sets his teammates in a position to score. He can attack the basket at top speed and is great running the fastbreak. Michale is what I like to call a “Defensive Stopper,” he has racked up a great deal of steals this season. I believe he will take his game to new heights to lead his team to a great season yet again.
Breland Orange, 6’6 C/F, Montgomery C/O 2022: This kid is a great rebounder, an absolute fighter in the paint. He is constantly crashing the boards looking for a put-back score. His main goal is to get that offensive rebound! He runs the floor with great energy and is not afraid to take a tough charge for his team. I like that he gets back on defense no matter how hard he worked on the play before. Breland always plays with high energy, and I have enjoyed watching him progress this season. Something I would like to see added to his game is some post-work and progression at the midrange. I look forward to seeing how better this kid becomes next season.
