2022 Top Guards & Analysis

<p>Southeast Alabama is known for producing many talented players on the court. The Class of 2022 has a lot of top talent in the Wiregrass region. As the area tournaments begin, many teams from around the area will be placing their top players on display. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="725189" first="Devontae" last="White"] </strong>(2022) | 6-3 PG, SG | Wicksburg HS</p> <p>White is an all around talented floor general that can make any open shot at any spot on the court. When the junior is in control of the game, he has a tendency to drive past defenders and get to the rim for an easy basket. But his mid-range jumper and three point shots are what really stand out. </p> <p>The junior has been one of the top players in the Wiregrass region since his freshman year of high school, and for good reason. His ability to score anywhere on the court or find the open man has many schools scouting him. </p> <p><strong>Cari Burney </strong>(2022) | 6-0 SG, SF | Charles Henderson HS</p> <p>Burney is a phenomenal player on both ends of the court. When he is open at the three point line, he rarely misses the wide open shot attempt. Many of his points come from beyond the arc, but the junior can also drive inside for a quick two point attempt. From a defensive standpoint, Burney is an outstanding man to man defender that has a tremendous upside to his defensive takeaway abilities. </p> <p><strong>Jaylen Nobles </strong>(2022) | 6-1 G | Slocomb HS</p> <p>Nobles is another outstanding junior with a bright future. The junior is a solid shooter that has quick feet when driving to the basket. His outside three point shots in a spot up position help to carry his momentum when Nobles is on a scoring streak. He battles his way through contact in the post and gets to the basket at ease. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="725160" first="Quentin" last="Hayes"] </strong>(2022) | 6-0 PG | Enterprise HS</p> <p>Hayes is a talented junior point guard that can space the floor and score at will. His fast break scoring is one of the numerous upsides to his game. On defense, Hayes has a true talent for getting turonvers. The junior can trap opposong ball handlers and force a turnover on any given possession. </p> <p><strong>Derrick Fletcher </strong>(2022) | 5-11 PG | Dothan Prep Academy</p> <p>Fletcher is a sensational point guard and team leader. The junior has outstanding court vision and is phenomenal in running the fast break to score a quick basket. Fletcher can also hit an open outside three pointer on the perimeter at any given point during the game. From a defensive standpoint, the junior is solid at creating turnovers and turning that into points for his team. </p>
