I had the opportunity to attend three Week 13 matchups. The Little Elm Lobos earned a 73-72 home victory over the Denton Guyer Wildcats on Tuesday, the Wylie Pirates hosted and defeated the South Garland Colonels 62-51 on Thursday, and the Lewisville Farmers escaped with a 64-59 road win against the Hebron Hawks on Friday.

Here are six standout juniors from this past week’s action:

Isaac Berry | 2022 | 6’4’’ Shooting Guard | Little Elm HS - Berry was sensational on Tuesday. He is a dynamic scorer with good size who also contributes with his defense and rebounding. The junior guard did a great job finishing through contact when slashing and shot the ball extremely well from behind the arc, knocking down five threes vs. Guyer. Furthermore, Berry made big shots down the stretch that ultimately allowed the Lobos to come out on top against their district opponent. He ended the game with 28 points, four rebounds, and five steals. This kid is the real deal.

[player_tooltip player_id="958564" first="KyeRon" last="Lindsay"] | 2022 | 6’7’’ Power Forward | Denton Guyer HS - Lindsay was virtually unstoppable as a rebounder Tuesday night. Little Elm had no answer for him on the boards. He provided Guyer with numerous second-chance opportunities thanks to his work on the offensive glass, almost single handedly keeping the Wildcats in the game despite Little Elm’s terrific shooting night. The 2022 forward showed that he can finish with power or finesse in the paint, is mobile enough to play on the wing, and skilled enough to bury jump shots from mid-range. He finished the contest with 33 points and 19 rebounds.

Jordan Hudgins | 2022 | 6’5’’ Power Forward | Wylie HS - Hudgins possesses a good combination of strength and skill. He was great about exploiting mismatches on Thursday, utilizing his strong frame to carve out space for himself down low, but also displayed the ability to stretch the floor and provide spacing with his shooting. On defense, the third-year forward challenged shots and turned a few back. Beyond that, Hudgins feasted on the defensive glass against an undersized South Garland team as well. It was a really solid all-around performance for the 2022 prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="889595" first="Cooper" last="Macaulay"] | 2022 | 6’4’’ Small Forward/Shooting Guard | Little Elm HS - Macaulay is a fearless shooter. After getting off to a bit of a slow start, he caught fire in the second quarter and carried that momentum into the second half. The Little Elm wing was fantastic from three-point land, hitting five threes vs. Guyer. He showed that he can drain triples comfortably from the catch as well as off the dribble. Additionally, Macaulay made some difficult jumpers from inside the arc. His shot mechanics are excellent too. He accounted for 19 points on Tuesday.

Jalil Brown | 2022 | 5’11’’ Combo Guard | South Garland HS - Brown is a fascinating prospect. He is an electric dual-threat quarterback on the gridiron and an explosive athlete on the hardwood. The 2022 guard did a lot of the dirty work for South Garland on Thursday. The Colonels don’t have a true big man on their roster, but Brown’s athleticism and determination allows him to be a productive rebounder and a gritty defender who can guard multiple positions. Football appears to be his primary sport, but don’t sleep on his basketball ability.

Will Curtis | 2022 | 6’4’’ Shooting Guard/Small Forward | Lewisville HS - Curtis got into some early foul trouble vs. Hebron. However, I was impressed with the way he was able to defend cleanly in the second half while still finding ways to be disruptive. On offense, the Lewisville junior made a three and converted some tough baskets in the paint. He is a talented two-way player and a valuable contributor for the Farmers. Curtis finished the evening with seven points, seven rebounds, and two steals. This is one of those guys who consistently makes winning plays at both ends of the court.
