We are officially in the swing of things and 6A is living up to the expectations. This classification has a lot of depth and plenty of teams who are capable of competing for the state title. Below are the teams who have stood out thus far in the season.

Basha (5-1)

This group has played extremely well earned and has earned some impressive victories. [player_tooltip player_id="809678" first="Trenton" last="McLaughlin"] has been lights out. His strong play has largely propelled the group. With that said, this team is well balanced and competes at a high level. They are well coached and do the "little" things that many other teams aren’t willing to do. This group is going to make a lot of noise throughout the course of this season.

Desert Ridge (5-2)

Desert Ridge is solid and has demonstrated as much with two huge wins: Highland and Mountain Pointe. Much like Basha, this group has multiple guys who can do damage. They play for each other and share the basketball well while having shooters who can make opposing teams pay. [player_tooltip player_id="959682" first="Kaden" last="Kennedy"] does most of the damage. He finishes around the rim and has good footwork on the block.

Liberty (6-0)

If you saw this group in the fall, this is no surprise. They are bought in to the style of play and shoot the basketball at a high level. Arguably, this team runs the press better than any group Coach Wood has had prior. [player_tooltip player_id="809734" first="Miles" last="Guliford"] makes this group go, but he has plenty of assistance.

Perry (5-0)

Perry has two big wins on the season in their 5-0 start. One came last night against Brophy. The previous win was against Hamilton. [player_tooltip player_id="701228" first="Dylan" last="Anderson"] is the household name that everyone knows on this roster. However, [player_tooltip player_id="703821" first="Christian" last="Tucker"] has had a strong start to the season. Between these two, Perry will look to make a deep run this season and possible hoist the state championship trophy.

Sunnyslope (3-0)

Despite only playing three games and losing a top prospect at the beginning of the season, Slope has made it clear that they are a force to be reckoned with. [player_tooltip player_id="827007" first="Oakland" last="Fort"] is the real deal and one of the top guards in the entire state. He has the benefit of having two solid wing and post prospects in [player_tooltip player_id="826998" first="Elijah" last="Saunders"] and [player_tooltip player_id="703820" first="Grady" last="Lewis"].

Others: Hamilton, Mountain Pointe, Mesa, Highland, Desert Vista
