We recently updated our prospect rankings in Michigan’s class of 2021. Even as seniors, there are players that are added to the list of prospects. We will take a look at 5 of the newcomers to the rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id="1125786" first="Sergio" last="Bennett"] (2021, 5-11, CG, Ann Arbor Huron)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #215

Bennett probably should have been on the list before now. He’ll prove that this season with a loaded Huron team. He has quick feet and stays on the move, with or without the ball. Bennett is a valuable ball handler distributor that doesn’t let the ball stick in his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="1125777" first="Corey" last="Deer"] (2021, 6-5 SF, Gaylord)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #275

Deer is the type of prospect that needs this season to start soon. A lot of people should want to see him in action, as he has a lot of upside as a player. I like his positional size and strength and he has produced in the clutch before. Deer could be ready for a true breakout season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1125784" first="DJ" last="Ferguson"] (2021, CG, Lansing Catholic)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #265

Ferguson definitely deserves to be on the list of prospects. He’s a high percentage shooter from the field and from behind the arc. Ferguson is a consistent perimeter scorer that can play both on and off the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="1125797" first="Joe" last="Kennedy"] (2021, PG, Bishop Foley)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #169

Not having Kennedy on the list already was a swing and a miss. I’ll admit, he should have been ranked a long time ago. He’s a classic floor general and leader that directs his troops. Kennedy can score or create for his teammates, whichever his team needs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1125781" first="Arshad" last="Walker"] (2021, PG, Berkley)

Prep Hoops Michigan Ranking: #174

Walker has faced injuries but he’s healthy as ever for his senior season. He’s ready to make a huge splash and, in my opinion, he has next level potential. Walker has a nice offensive skill set including tough to defend pull up jumper.
