The final week of January ended on a high note with players settling in and competing at a high level. Whether it was big time scoring nights or players doing things that you can’t see on the stat sheet.

Southview HS Junior Guard [player_tooltip player_id="1124941" first="Cedavion" last="Wimbley"] has been on a tear this season and his performance on Friday night against Overhills may have been his best yet. Wimbley went for 38 Points, showing his full scoring arsenal which includes the deep ball and finishing in the paint.

Riverside/Durham Junior [player_tooltip player_id="1115920" first="Keyon" last="Webb"] provides a high amount of the scoring for his team, he doesn’t have much of an issue getting his shot off or getting in the paint. He has a quick first step and is a crafty finisher once he gets in the paint.

Clayton HS Senior Guard Javonte Long brought a high level of intensity from the start of the game, especially on the defensive end of the floor. He’s quick and strong which caused all types of issues for his opponents that he defended. Offensively he is constantly pushing the tempo, attacking defenses to make plays.

Clayton HS Senior Guard [player_tooltip player_id="838043" first="Justin" last="Bell"] got off to a slower start but he stayed aggressive, continuing to attack the defense. For the most part he made the correct plays and didn’t allow a slow scoring start to affect him much. D3 programs have made him a priority and he has the tools to be an early impact player on that level.

Cleveland HS Junior [player_tooltip player_id="577886" first="Dylan" last="Wiggins"] was one of the top overall performers on the night and is a legit prospect for colleges to watch. The 6’5 Forward has a smooth shooting stroke, nice footwork, and a high overall IQ for the game. What we really like about him is how many ways he affected the game. He doesn’t mind mixing it up in the paint to get rebounds but also can move to the wing and be a playmaker for his teammates.

Cleveland HS Junior Guard Baron Williams showcased his shooting ability early on, knocking down the deep ball. He doesn’t need much space or time to get his shot off and has nice range on shot his shot.

Cleveland HS Junior Forward [player_tooltip player_id="944989" first="Trey" last="Fields"] is far from a finished prospect but shows flashes of how good he can be. A legit 6’6 that can make plays on the block or from the high post as well as rebounding and altering shots on defense. Fields is one of those players that you can’t necessarily measure his impact by his stats only.

Trinity Christian Sophomore Forward [player_tooltip player_id="992925" first="Steven" last="Lassiter"] has put together an outstanding week and is continuing to improve as a player/prospect. In two games this week against Northwood Temple and Village Christian, he averaged 21 Points per game as the team went 1-1.
