The Big Interview: Jack Browder

<p>Starting guard Jack Browder (’22) is a unique piece within a consistently successful Dobyns-Bennett basketball program. Monday evening Jack joined PrepHoopsTN for an interview.  The topics were wide-ranging.  Get to know Jack Browder.</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>How is your team doing?<br /> </strong></span>We have done good so far. We are 14-3 right now. We’ve been quarantined for the past week or so now and we get out of it Thursday.<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><br /> </strong></span></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Are your starters lately the same as before?<br /> </strong></span>Brady Stump, Jonavon Gillespie, Jack Browder, Malachi Hale, [player_tooltip player_id="983741" first="Jahson" last="Dennis"]. Yes, that’s correct. Our three losses have been against teams that were very aggressive against our young guards. Our guards are very talented offensively and are getting much better on defense. As a team were averaging 75 points a game. Our best win so far had been against Greenville but our real test is Monday against Science Hill.<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><br /> </strong></span></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Who are the best players you have seen on other teams this year?<br /> </strong></span>Baylor School had two D1s, a senior and a junior. I know you know about Reid and Jakobi. We kept Reid in check, but Jakobi got his. [player_tooltip player_id="1116463" first="Dylan" last="Bartley"] at Sullivan East. Farragut’s tall guard looked good but didn’t do much. That’s about it.<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><br /> </strong></span></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Have you heard from any colleges?<br /> </strong></span>Coach Szorc from App State texts regularly. I’ve texted with Coach Shulman from Alabama Huntsville and Coach Taylor from Newberry.
