Championship Saturday Standouts (2021)

<p> Through the Prep Hoops Missouri Magical Stream Machine, we were able to watch several championship games from tournaments around the state. Here is a look at the top Class of 2021 standouts from Championship Saturday Night.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="994440" first="Jaden" last="Monday"] 6’0 Van Horn: The 2021 Washburn signee was dominant with 27 points in the Falcons 81-51 victory over Mid-Buchanan in the championship game of the Lathrop Tournament. His combination of open-court speed and ability to score at three levels makes him difficult to stop when he has it all going. That was the case on Saturday.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="984458" first="Lane" last="Dunlap"] 5’11 Golden City: The 2021 guard scored 39 points in the Eagles 61-48 victory over Lockwood in the championship game of the Golden City Tournament. He attacked the basket with his normal reckless abandon for buckets, but he also had the 3-point shot working as well. His energy level is limitless.</p> <p>Brennan Watkins 6’0 Kearney: The 2021 VMI recruit scored a game high 25 points in a 61-58 loss to VMI in the championship game of the Kearney Tournament. He is a seasoned bucket-getter who knows how to come off screens and work without the ball. And he can create off the dribble to get into the lane or drain long 3-pointers.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="824183" first="Landon" last="Poppa"] 6’4 Mound City: The 2021 wing scored 17 points in the Panthers victory over North Andrew in the championship game of the Stanberry Tournament. He put a charge in the building in the third quarter with a pair of thunderous dunks in transition. He has a tough mid-range jumper where he can just elevate over defenders.</p> <p>Max Schnelle 6’4 Lockwood: I really like watching this robust 210-pound guard play. He is very skilled with good mobility to accompany his size. He has a nice jump stop move in the lane and the ability to pull up from 3-point range. He scored 18 points in the championship game of the Golden City Tournament.</p> <p>Jakub Hisel 6’1 Winston: An impressive 2021 forward who led the Redbirds to a victory over Pattonsburg in the championship game of the Osborn Tournament. His feel for the game is very good and his passing skills are excellent. You are comfortable running offense through him. He can also sink perimeter shots and score inside.</p> <p>Tanner McDaniel 6’3 North Andrew: The shooting guard scored a game-high 26 points against Mound City in the championship game of the Stanberry Tournament. He created some nice looks for himself off the dribble while also knocking down 3-pointers.</p> <p>Shelby Pittensbarger 6’1 Warrensburg: The slashing wing scored 19 points against Fulton in the championship game of the California Tournament. He plays at one speed, which is Full-Tilt Boogie. He was attacking from basket from the opening tip with a number of coast to coast forays.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
