PHW recaps the week with a list of guards from across the state.

Peyton Kuhn - Medford - 2021: A skilled guard that played with the confidence. His toolbox is finely-tuned, as he knows how to attack the defense using his jumper or his ball-handling. Kuhn’s craftiness and combo moves stood out, as well. He finished with 26 points against Xavier on Monday evening.

[player_tooltip player_id="865856" first="Charlie" last="Pfefferle"] - Xavier - 2022: A much-improved shooter that scored well against Medford. The lefty is developing into a legitimate prospect, able to score on his own at a great volume. He’s also a triple-double threat, a player that’s naturally able to pass and rebound. He takes smart risks on the floor, testing the defense in various ways.

[player_tooltip player_id="801148" first="Andrew" last="Rohde"] - Brookfield Central - 2022: Rohde should be wooing college coaches around the Midwest. He’s a tall, lengthy gunner that is a college-caliber shooter. He has deep range, and is always ready for catch-and-shoot opportunities when rotating on the wing.

Kon Knueppel - Wisconsin Lutheran - 2024: The freshman guard is another bright spot out of a loaded Wisconsin Lutheran program. He’s a natural shooter, making 14 threes so far this season, and at 6’3” he already has a great frame. He’s averaging 10 points per game, and dropped 15 in a win over Franklin on Wednesday.

[player_tooltip player_id="804910" first="Nate" last="Abel"] - Beaver Dam - 2021: Abel scored 41 points this week against Oshkosh North. The guard is an intriguing division two prospect, as he already holds an offer from Michigan Tech. Abel is a well-rounded guard with the ability to dice up defenses. He’s a slippery driver and high-IQ playmaker. Abel can also shoot well from the perimeter, making him a valuable player for colleges to recruit.

[player_tooltip player_id="879993" first="Hayden" last="Doyle"] - Brookfield East - 2021: Doyle’s numbers this week were exceptional. The Washington (Mo.) commit put up a combined 67 in two games. He’s a gritty scorer in the lane and savvy perimeter player that could really dominate at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="804899" first="Zac" last="Johnson"] - River Falls - 2021: The Augustana (ND) commit scored 28 and 29 points this week. Johnson offers serious volume scoring as a high-motor scoring guard. What’s most impressive though is what he’s done outside of scoring. He had three steals against Saint Croix Central, and eight total assists in his past two games. He may not get a ton of attention as a committed player, but this week he showed signs of more development.

[player_tooltip player_id="1021594" first="Antwan" last="Burns-Jones"] - Catholic Memorial - 2023: Burns-Jones scored 22 points against West Allis Hale, his highest point total this season. He made it to the line 14 times, knocking down 12 of his attempts. He’s shown flashes on the summer circuit, but scouts should like scoring outbursts like these.
