Coming into tonight’s game Bismarck Century was 3-0 and ranked #3 in our Power Rankings. Jamestown was 2-2 with two losses this week vs. Minot and Bismarck, they are ranked #1 in our Power Rankings. We had a back and forth start with Century leading by a few. At the 8:00 mark in the first half, Jamestown tied it 14-14. The two teams would trade baskets back and forth with Century leading most of the way. The Blue Jays went on a mini-run at the end of the half and took the lead into halftime by 1 point. Both teams played half-court man with some token full-court pressure after makes. It seemed like Century was in control all half. I was waiting for the Patriots to pull away, but that never happened. Jamestown kept hanging around and stayed within striking distance. When the opportunity presented itself, they striked and took the lead going into the second half.

The second half started with 2:00 minutes going by before anyone would score. When someone did score it was Jamestown going on a 5-0 run. Century did make a little comeback and tie it at 38-38. After that is was all Jamestown. The Blue Jays had a great second half. It was a team effort and they shared the ball very well. [player_tooltip player_id="750168" first="Brooks" last="Carroll"] had three big triples in the second half that finished off any plans of a comeback by the Patriots. Jamestown built their lead up to double digits and finished with a 13-point victory. This was a huge win for the Blue Jays who lost two games earlier in the week. Now they can regroup and head into the new week on a positive note.

Game Takeaways – Jamestown is deep and has a talented bench. They have the ability to sub 3, 4, or 5 players in at a time. This keeps their players fresh and ready to roll as the second half wears on. [player_tooltip player_id="731881" first="Carson" last="Lamp"] looked like the real deal tonight. Bismarck Century is loaded with talented underclassmen. The Patriots had an off night shooting the ball, they will be a team to look out for all season long. The Blue Jays have many good athletes and shooters, they are a tough matchup. Jamestown shares the ball very well. Look for both teams to be in the State Tournament in March.
