<p>The 2023 class is starting to emerge in North Dakota It is an athletic, skilled, and exciting group. Let us take a look at the best sophomores from around the state.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1050249" first="Alex" last="Dvorak"] (2023) |5-11 G| Dickinson</strong> – Averaging over 20 ppg in the WDA is quite the feat for a senior, doing this as a sophomore is something special. He also put up 36 points on a good Minot team. Alex does more than just scoring. He handles the ball skillfully, makes the easy pass, and sets up others for easy shots. I like how hard he plays and hustles all over the court. Alex is a big-time player for Dickinson.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1048689" first="Anthony" last="Doppler"] (2023) |6-4 G| Bismarck Century</strong> – Watch out for this shooter. His 3-point range extends out to the volleyball line. He can flat-out shoot the basketball. Anthony has a lightning-quick release that he can get off with just an inch of space. His height and athleticism make him a tough matchup as a big, long guard. He is a solid rebounder and he sees the floor well. He is averaging double-digits ppg in the WDA.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1138706" first="Bryer" last="Kaczynski"] (2023) |6-10| Wyndmere/Lidgerwood</strong> – You do not see players this tall in Southeast rural North Dakota very often. As a sophomore, he can be a dominating force at times. He had 6 dunks in the first game of the season and 19 rebounds in another game. He has a nice back to the basket game and can finish with both hands. He is a rim protector with his length that leads to altering and blocking shots. Keep your eyes on this Warbird.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1050248" first="Carson" last="Bartholomay"] (2023) |6-6 F| Enderlin</strong> – Check out this athletic versatile player. He has all the tools to be a great player. He has the size and athletic ability to play at the next level. Carson moves well enough to guard opposing players 1-5. His long wingspan makes him a disruptive defensive player in passing lanes and altering shots. Carson is also a dependable rebounder.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1125690" first="Connor" last="Kerzman"] (2023) |6-1 G| Garrison</strong> – A very fast player that gets up and down the court in a hurry. He gets his fair share of easy buckets in transition. Connor has quick feet and shoots with a good base. Keep an eye on Conner as he is one of the best young guards in Region 5.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1128188" first="Conner" last="Kraft"] (2023) |6-6 F| Shanley</strong> – A nice athlete who can guard in the post and on the perimeter. He can catch on the wing, take one dribble, and wham it home. Conner can be a dynamic player. He works hard and rebounds well. As the season goes on look for him to be one of the best young forwards in the EDC.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1138685" first="Cruz" last="Hernandez"] (2023) |5-10 G| Hankinson</strong> – The best player for the Pirates as a sophomore. Expect him to be one of the most athletic young guards in Region 1. He plays the game the right way and has a high basketball IQ. His shot has improved since last season. Cruz also has great ball skills.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1138739" first="Dawson" last="Fleck"] (2023) |5-9 G| Williston Trinity Christian</strong> – A true leader even though he will only be a sophomore. He is a young point guard that is mature beyond his years. Dawson has extreme range with his 3-point shot. He can put them in from beyond the college line. He has a nice floater game that will give opposing defenders fits this year. Look for him to be the one of best young point guards in Region-8.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1138774" first="Ethan" last="Manock"] (2023) |6-4 F| Wahpeton</strong> – He is a good rebound and shot blocker. Ethan will make many highlight-reel plays this year with put-back dunks, flushes, and blocked shots. As his shot improves, he will become a scary threat on offense. Expect him to develop into a nice player for the Huskies in the EDC.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1138746" first="Jay" last="Wanzek"] (2023) |6-5 F| Shiloh Christian</strong> – A hard worker who is always working to get into position for rebounds. He is a monster of a player who is big and thick. Jay can shoot it from outside. As he polishes his game Jay will be a force to be reckoned with.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1050262" first="Joey" last="Desir"] (2023) |5-11 G| Shiloh Christian</strong> – A quality fundamental player who makes the right play. He is a quick guard who distributes the basketball. Joey has an accurate jump shot from the perimeter.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1138794" first="Mitchell" last="Leas"] (2023) |5-11 G| Rolla</strong> – A real deal scorer who gets his from all over. He has range from deep and shoots a soft accurate shot. Mitchell is a sneaky defender who will turn the ball over. Make sure you check out the crafty smooth scorer for the Bulldogs.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1050247" first="Raymond" last="Brown"] (2023) |5-11 G| Fargo Davies</strong> – A great on-ball defender with quick feet and hands. He gives great effort and hustle. Raymond is an astute guard who makes his teammates better.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1050245" first="Ryan" last="Erikson"] (2023) |6-8 F| Bismarck Century</strong> – Look out for this big man in the capital city. He does all the right things and has the size and skills to match it. He can score from inside and out. He sees the floor well and passes out of the post. Ryan is one of the best up-and-coming big men in North Dakota.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1050257" first="Tyson" last="Enget"] (2023) |5-9 G| Powers Lake</strong> – A very unselfish passer who finds the open teammate. He is an energetic defender who gets in the ball-handlers face. Tyson is an opportunistic scorer. He is a facilitator who is the primary ball-handler for the Ranchers.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1050256" first="Will" last="Mayo"] (2023) |6-3 F| Des Lacs Burlington</strong> – A major cog in the Lakers offense. He is a skilled player on the O side of the ball. Will has strong fundamental post-moves. One of his best qualities is that he is a fierce competitor.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1133049" first="Wyatt" last="Caraballo"] (2023) |6-0 G| Divide County</strong> – A nice guard who plays fast early and often. He will run the show for this up-and-coming team. Wyatt has a nice first step and excels when he gets downhill. He can hit the 3 if the D leaves him alone. Look for him to be one of the toughest backcourt defenders in the area.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1115649" first="Zachary" last="Kraft"] (2023) |5-10 G| Grand Forks Red River</strong> – A rock-solid shooter who can cash in from long range. He has ball-on-a-string handles. Zach is a gifted passer and sees the floor exceptionally well. I think Zach will become one of the best sophomores in the EDC this season.</p>
