The Ottawa-Kent Conference is loaded with talent in all six divisions this season. From top-to-bottom, a healthy mix of future Division 1, 2, and NAIA level players will lead their programs in 2021. Below are my picks for the top 50 players in the OK Conference. First up are players ranked 50-41.

50. [player_tooltip player_id="1067871" first="Nick" last="Henry"], 6’7" F, Caledonia 2022"

Nick is one of the highest stock-rises the west side of the state saw this summer. His climb is mostly attributed to the motor that he plays with on the glass. He’s an aggressive rebounder who uses his physicality well. His footwork in the paint has continued to evolve, allowing him to be a threat offensively and a great defender around the rim.

49. [player_tooltip player_id="983513" first="Kobe" last="Kambestad"], 6’0" G, West Catholic 2022"

Kobe is one of the best passers in the area. He has a natural feel for the point guard position, which translates to a ton of assists and very few turnovers. He has a good shot and consistently knocks down jumpers from spot-up and pull-up situations. Kobe’s a bit undersized but makes up for it with his quickness.

48. [player_tooltip player_id="598766" first="Kaden" last="George"], 6’3" G, Spring Lake 2022"

Kaden is one of the more unorthodox scorers in the area. He has a unique ability to finish off-balanced shots and does a good job of using his length to adust to a defender’s size. Kaden does a good job of running off screens to find his shot and is one of the more dangerous shooting threats in the area when he finds an opening.

47. Zeke Dykstra, G, Kenowa Hills 2022"

Zeke is another underclassman who had a huge summer and is primed to make a leap in his junior season. He’s a highly cerebral point guard who can make all the right plays. Zeke’s one of the better on-ball defenders in the area whose lateral quickness creates a lot of problems for opposing guards.

46. [player_tooltip player_id="987635" first="Anthony" last="Sydnor"] , 6’3" G, Muskegon 2023"

Anthony has all the tools to be the next great guard out of Muskegon. Quite frankly, I’d have him higher on my list if there was more tape out there, so don’t be surprised to see Anthony soar up the rankings this season. During the few times I’ve seen him live, Anthony has shown the ability to change speeds on a dime. He has a great handle and feel for the game. His mid-range jumper is smooth and has a crafty way of scoring in the paint.

45. [player_tooltip player_id="814606" first="Trevor" last="Smith"], 6’4" F, Hopkins 2021"

Trevor has a lot of intangibles that make him one of the more all-around players in the area. He has good size, quick hands-on defense, and can match up with both guards and bigs. Offensively, he has good vision and is a great passer in both the half-court and in transition. Trevor can handle the ball on the perimeter and makes great cuts after passing the ball.

44. [player_tooltip player_id="863984" first="Owen" last="Worthington"], 6’3" G, Grand Haven 2021"

Owen is one of the pure scorers in the OK Red who has the ability to get a bucket in a number of ways. Owen has a pure shooting stroke and a quick release that doesn’t need much room to get off. Owen’s a crafty finisher in the paint and has a consistent floater that’s hard to defend against. Owen should continue to become more of a physical presence as he continues his development.

43. Sawyer Wychers, 6’0" G, Byron Center 2021"

Sawyer is the type of guard that isn’t afraid to absorb contact on his way to the rim. He has a good shot from the perimeter and a proven ability to drive and convert tough shots in the paint. Sawyer has shown a variety of moves to beat his man to the basket and is also a plus passer in the half-court.

42. [player_tooltip player_id="1055897" first="Blake" last="Stewart"] G, Coopersville 2021"

Blake has one of the more fundamentally sound shooting forms in the area, and his range extends beyond the three-point line. Blake also has a proven ability to knock down mid-range jumpers and shows a smooth approach to pull-up situations on offense.

41. [player_tooltip player_id="814600" first="Tyler" last="Stezowski"] 6’1" G, Hamilton 2021"

Tyler is one of the better defenders in the area. He has great lateral quickness and can stay in front of the majority of guards in the area. He has active hands on defense and is great at anticipating passes. Tyler is the type of guard you want against a press, showing the presence of mind to make the right decisions without panicking.
