Bolivar Central and Westview both introduced multiple college prospects to PrepHoopsTN Saturday evening.

Bolivar Central vs. Westview: December 19

TREVORIUS Henderson (2021) | Bolivar Central

Undersized. Gritty. Henderson is unafraid of contact despite usually giving up some size in all his layup battles. Henderson is extremely comfortable under pressure.  He needs to be more exacting with his free throw form though.  When he focused, Henderson made the freebies look effortless.

Andtrayvin Stewart (2022) | Bolivar Central

Shooter. Undersized combo guard.  It is tough to call him a shooting guard at his size, but Bolivar features so many guards and he usually only gets to finish the plays instead of initiate.  A little timid in the lane.

Quincy Allen (2021) | Westview

For Westview, Quincy Allen provides an elegant slasher.  His shooting comes and goes, but the ability to knife through defenders is valuable.  Fringe NAIA.

Marquez Taylor Marquez Taylor 6'0" | SG Westview | 2021 State TN (2021) | Westview

Marquez is a physical player that batters around the lane somewhat like a football player playing basketball.  He is not lost or sloppy, but there is certainly that style embedded in his game.  Taylor finds contact and contact tends to find him.  In the Bolivar Central game it often appeared that the fun uncle was playing and everybody wanted to test their strength against him.

Garner Anderson (2022) | Westview

Wildly skilled.  Watching Garner move around the court fluidly made my day.  Tall, agile wings like Garner are somewhat rare in the state and almost non-existent in Class A.

The game is slowing down just a touch.

27-17 Bolivar Central leads Westview. mid 2Q.

Garner Anderson (@westview_hoops ) has some Mike Dunleavy Jr. to him. Lean, lanky, skilled. Agile. I really like what he brings to the offensive end.

#20 JaQuan Lax JaQuan Lax JaQuan Lax 6'1" | PG Bolivar Central | 2021 State TN (2021) | Bolivar Central

This year, similar to last year, JaQuan touches the ball constantly.  His willingness to take the shot is unparalleled statewide.  Lax’ hunger for shot attempts is ravenous.  Lax really is an interesting player in that he can hit big shots.  Just Friday night Lax beat the buzzer to win the game for his Bolivar Central squad.  He opened the scoring Saturday night against Westview.  Later in the first quarter Lax calmly took and made a 22’ three-pointer.  There is no seatbelt, no hesitation, no reluctance.  Lax is going to shoot.  JaQuan Lax JaQuan Lax JaQuan Lax 6'1" | PG Bolivar Central | 2021 State TN matured into a much more committed defender from last season.  Lax is a two-way player now.  Seemingly every defensive possession the smaller guard aggressively challenged interior shot attempts.

#24 Jamarion Anderson (2023) | Bolivar Central

Jamarion plays much like JaQuan Lax JaQuan Lax JaQuan Lax 6'1" | PG Bolivar Central | 2021 State TN in that he will shoot seemingly every time he touches the ball.  Anderson made four three pointers in the opening half.  His confidence is outrageously high and just possibly justified.

Elsewhere:

Preston Hickey (2021) | Northview

Pushed through 24 points in a loss to Gatlinburg-Pittman.

Conner Weyant (2022) | Northview

Like Preston, Conner surpassed 20 points.   He managed 23 points.

@schneidermatt32 (2021) | Siegel

Schneider gave a sturdy dozen in a low-scoring win over 9AAA favorite Station Camp.

@WetzelJaylan (2021) | Siegel

Jaylan Wetzel Jaylan Wetzel Jaylan Wetzel 6'1" | SG Siegel | 2021 State TN helped with 12 points.

Zion Swader Zion Swader Zion Swader 6'0" | PG Siegel | 2021 State TN (2021) | Siegel

@SwaderZion scored 11 points in the win.
