California’s Top Unsigned Seniors (Pt. 8)

<p>With the early signing period in the books and the state of California high school basketball still in flux due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we figured now would be a good time to highlight some of the state’s available seniors. In this series we’ll provide evaluations on the best available prospects in their final season of high school competition. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="680215" first="Derrien" last="Carter-Hollinger"]</strong>, Foothills Christian - Multi-dimensional forward who has shown the IQ, handle and passing ability to play on the ball in a point-forward type of role. Best scoring attribute is in transition where he uses his length, strong lower body and touch off the glass to finish around the basket. Shot creator for teammates in the half-court setting with drive-and-kicks. Must continue to improve perimeter offensive package.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="951240" first="Lorenzo" last="Marsh"]</strong>, Long Beach Poly - Smooth shooting wing who has shown he’s willing to take and make big shots during crunch time. Has consistent deep range from multiple spots behind the arc. Long and wiry frame has room to build on and add muscle. Can attack a bad closeout and get to the rim for a finish. Needs to find a secondary offensive option whether it’s a mid-range pull, floater or more explosiveness when in the paint.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="951214" first="Uriyah" last="Rojas"]</strong>, Los Osos - Smart and heady lead guard who plays with great pace and court awareness. More of the pass-first, setup man type of point guard who embodies the floor general mindset. Capable scorer off the bounce who can hit a pull-up jumper when a defender goes under a screen, but thrives most when slicing his way to the basket for paint finishes. Has the tendency to pass up good offensive looks to get teammates involved. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="951213" first="Marcus" last="Green"]</strong>, Etiwanda - Big time vertical athlete who competes on the glass on both ends of the floor. Strong interior finisher with soft touch off the glass. Versatile defender who can guard multiple spots and understands team and individual defensive concepts. A bit undersized for his position and needs to continue to build on his perimeter skill set to maximize his potential at the next level.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="747091" first="Jaylen" last="Carter"]</strong>, Manual Arts - Intriguing wing prospect with the ideal frame/athleticism you look for at the position. Powerful downhill athlete who is always in attack mode on the break. Finishes through and over contact and gets to the free throw line at a high rate. Capable perimeter shooter off the bounce who needs to continue to improve three-point consistency.</p>
