The Winter Showcase is taking place December 12th, and 13th at the Phhacility in Phoenix, AZ, hosted by recruiting legend Gerry Freitas, the two-day event featured some of the top programs on the West Coast. It also featured some impressive shooters. In this article, we take a look at the top snipers from the event.

Sterling Knox 6’4 SF Purple Reign 2023 - He had it working all weekend. Knox was impressive in his first game, knocking down 6 3’s. I’m not in love with his form, but at this point, he’s consistent and has proven he can make them. He has great size for a wing shooter, which allowed him to get his shot off over shorter closing defenders.

Quinn Patterson 6’7 SF Team Lavine 2022 - Patterson is a pure sniper. Showed a lighting quick release and was basically automatic when he got his feet set. You can’t leave him, and what was most impressive about him was that he did it from both mid-range and from behind the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id="954257" first="Damian" last="Ruiz"] 6’2 CG Day Hawks 2022 - Ruiz did a lot more than shoot this weekend, but his shooting did check out. A consistent sniper in catch and shoot situations, he also showed the ability to drain shots off the bounce as well.

Matthew Brand 6’1 SG Arsenal 2021 - Brand is a confident shooter, that made several 3’s on the weekend. He’s mostly a catch and shoot specialist, but he also was good shooting the ball in pullup transition situations.

Kayleb Manuel 5’10 PG Arsenal 2022 - Manuel earned points because of his tough shot-making ability. He hit several 3’s in the game I watched to stop runs, which IMO are some of the most pressure shots in a game. He was deadly from the corner and showed good form and consistent release on his jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id="747104" first="Keatten" last="Smith"] 6’3 SG Gamepoint 2021 - I love his confidence. On one play Smith got his 3 swatted, and it led to an easy score on the other end. On the very next play, he found himself open in almost the identical spot, and he pulled the trigger with no hesitation. He did a good job spacing the floor, finding little areas to slide to for shot attempts, and was always shot ready when receiving passes.

Jon Escobedo 6’3 SG TMG 2021 - Just straight up went off in the game I saw. Made his first one and then just continued to pile on from there. Quick trigger shooter that was money in catch and shoot situations.

Chase Bennett 5’10 PG Team Grr 2021 - You could probably put everyone from Team Grr on this list, but Bennett goes on there because of his high percentage and form. He served as the primary ballhandler for most of the weekend but also understood how to space the floor after entering. He used good fundamentals, having his feet ready, and eliminating any wasted motion on his shot.

Myron Amey 6’4 SG Team Rampage 2021 (featured image) - Perhaps the most complete shooter on the weekend. Amey is an intriguing prospect that has textbook form. He was also able to get his shot off the bounce, using a little wiggle to free himself before launching from deep. He has good size for his position and shoots the ball with textbook form and release.

Follow Prep Hoops
