2022 point guard Rick Daniels Rick Daniels 6'0" | PG North Miami | 2022 State FL was a catalyst in North Miami pulling away from Killian on Monday. The 6-foot Daniels scored 20 points, 16 coming in the second half as the Pioneers won 88-69. Daniels has a strong handle and was routinely successful at getting to the rim. Credit to Daniels having North Miami off to a 3-0 start.
2022 Alex Houck Alex Houck 6'3" | CG Jupiter | 2022 State FL has a bright future playing for the Jupiter Warriors. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard scored 28 points in a loss against a very good Forrest Hill squad. The Falcons won 28 games a season ago and reached the 7A final four. Houck joined three other sophomores in a game that was closer than the final score indicated. A game against a top opponent will only help Houck and company in the long run. Specifically, Houck has an accurate mid-range and can pin you with shots from long range. He links his success on the court with high academics in the classroom.
2022 Rickey Ballard Rickey Ballard 6'6" | CG Westminster | 2022 State FL makes this list again based on a strong game against Calvary Christian (FTL). The Eagles are one of the top teams in the state and Ballard showed out against them last night. The 6-foot-6 wing scored 18 points and was effective attacking the basket. I saw this firsthand at the Lions practice a few weeks ago. Ballard has the athleticism to get past you and rise up above the rim for a dunk. His versatility makes him an intriguing college prospect. This game comes off another 18-point performance against Pine Crest. Ballard should be happy about his play early in the season.
2022 Alexander Mocha was the best overall player for Killian against North Miami. The 6-foot-3 guard scored a game-high 22 points on 9-of-16 from the field. Mocha showed great touch finishing at the rim for a multitude of his baskets. So far this season, Mocha has averaged 21.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Moreover, he has knocked down eight 3-pointers through three games.
2021 Lucas Ortiz provided Ransom Everglades with a huge road victory over Gulliver Prep. The 6-foot-1 scored 20 points and grabbed ten rebounds in the 53-52 win. Moreover, Ortiz chipped in with five steals and was active on the defensive end. You have to be impressed with a guard collecting ten boards on the glass. Ortiz has averaged 15.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.2 steals through five games.
2021 Chamon Metayer Chamon Metayer 6'6" | PF North Miami | 2021 State FL might be the most versatile player North Miami has. The 6-foot-6 forward scored 11 points and grabbed ten rebounds in the win over Killian. Metayer is extremely athletic and can pass as a guard with how he runs the floor in transition. Therefore, he can cause a ton of mismatch problems for defenders. Metayer is a strong leaper and dominated on the glass early on. I had him with five rebounds already before the first quarter ended. Metayer is too strong for most opponents around the low block and has good footwork. His value for the Pioneers is extremely diverse. Metayer is committed to Cincinnati as an athlete for football.
