Surprise Prospects: Week 1

Like we anticipated earlier this year, we had some players really surprise with their stellar play. [player_tooltip player_id="1095803" first="Peter" last="Amakasu"], 6’4 G, Lehi High School The San Diego transfer from Balboa City High School has really made an impact on his Lehi team. Peter is a first option scorer which makes Lehi more dangerous because they have two other players that can score and create for themselves. Peter has a NJCAA/D2 game. He is athletic and has a strong built. Peter has a consistent outside jumper. He is tough in the corner because he can nail that deep shot and he has strong moves to the basket. He is also a high level defender that can matchup against different players and their positions. [player_tooltip player_id="543094" first="Henry" last="Smith"], 6’4 SG Bountiful High School Henry is a lights out spot up shooter that shoots at a high percentage. If you give him any space or if he is open he is going to knock it down. Although he is not light of foot he can still get to the rim using angles and his body. Henry plays on a team that is going to find him off of double teams. High quality shooter that knows how to move and find open spaces in man and zone. He could be a nice addition for a team looking for a shooter with some size. [player_tooltip player_id="1041879" first="Connor" last="Saunders"], 6’6 W Syracuse High School Connor is going to have to carry the load this year. He has a great inside outside game. Players like him at 6’6 are usually nabbed early by a team that can have them play right away. If you’re looking for an under the radar player that has that next level ability Connor is a great prospect to keep an eye on. [player_tooltip player_id="933815" first="Preston" last="Condie"], 6’5 W Carbon High School Preston is a Swiss Army Knife. Preston has a high IQ on the floor which leads to him being efficient from the field and the line. He can play out in the perimeter and can sit down on the blocks as well. Nice throwback game. He has a high ceiling. Keep an eye on Preston he is a major under the radar kid.
