<p>The Judson Rockets (2-0) flexed their muscles in the dominating 114-64 win over New Braunfels Canyon Cougars (0-2) on Tuesday night thanks to the terrific play from their backcourt. The Rockets jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back in the decisive win that had five Judson players score in the double figures.</p>

<p>Stats: 21 points, 2 steals</p>
<p>The senior combo-guard got things rolling in the first quarter for the Rockets with back-to-back threes and would go on to be their leading scorer of the night with 21 points. Washington was red hot from three-point territory connecting on 5 three-pointers during the game and did an excellent job as a catch-and-shoot weapon from beyond-the-arc.</p>

<p>Stats: 15 points, 4 assists</p>
<p>Brandon was terrific in his second game of the season pushing the pace for the Rockets and bringing a balanced overall game to the court. The junior point guard is a blur in the open court and capitalized on fast break opportunities with great down court passes to teammates and a couple of smooth finishes at the rim. Brandon also hit 2 three-pointers, showing nice shots from deep-range, and played great team defense anticipating passes and creating turnovers. </p>

<p>Stats: 32 points, 8 rebounds</p>
<p>McCarty was a bright spot for the Cougars as the 6'7" junior center put up big numbers in his 32 points (13-of-17 from the field) and 8 rebounds versus the Rockets. McCarty did a great job battling inside for boards and going up strong in the paint on offense while producing a high efficiency from the floor and getting to the foul line. </p>

<p>Stats: 20 points</p>
<p>The senior captain put up 20 points and hit 5-of-9 from three-point territory for the game, providing a reliable scoring option for the Cougars who struggled to get scoring from anyone outside of him and McCarty. Gonzales excelled as a spot-up shooter who did most of his damage from the corner spots.</p>

<p>Stats: 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists</p>
<p>Possibly the most versatile player on the court, Adams had a great game contributing in several different ways, from scoring to rebounding and great defense. The senior wing isn't flashy but has really good size and length for the position, and proved to be a solid all-around contributor. </p>

<p>Stats: 15 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists</p>
<p>An athletic forward who can really run and jump, Pillow stood out with his 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists stat line. One of the more impressive plays of the game came on a Rocket's fast break in the first quarter where Pillow finished with a powerful two-handed dunk in transition. The 6'4" junior is a player to keep an eye on moving forward.</p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Donovan Gomez | SG | Judson (2023)</strong></span></p>
<p>Stats: 17 points, 4 assists</p>
<p>Gomez had a breakout game off the bench putting up 17 points (hitting 3 three-pointers) and contributing 4 assists. The sophomore shooting guard was active all over the court and showed to be a knock-down shooter from deep. Gomez has a sweet stroke and can really stretch the floor just from his ability to hit open shots from beyond-the-arc.</p>
