Continue ReadingThis past weekend the 2020 Competitive Edge High School Fall League came to a close as Devon Prep capped a 6-2 regular season by running through their playoff bracket and defeating Reading HS (7-1 reg season) in the championship game. The Tide were led by super soph Lucas Orchard and lefty guard Chris Patton Chris Patton 6'0" | CG Devon Prep | 2021 State PA (C/O 2021).
Below is a look at a few of the prospects who played exceptionally well over the 2020 Competitive Edge High School Fall League season.
1st Team All-League:
Daniel Alcantara – 6’4’’ / Junior / Reading / Shooting Guard: Alcantara is an elite scorer at all three levels and was the most athletic baller in this league. The junior owns an enormous wingspan, next level quickness and jaw dropping hops. A 30-point outburst in Reading’s 1st Round playoff game also featured a chase down, spike-off-the-backboard block and a ridiculous tomahawk flush. Alcantara will be a program defining player at the collegiate level.
Matt Compas Matt Compas 6'3" | CG Wissahickon | 2021 State PA – 6’2” / Senior/ Wissahickon / Combo Guard: Compas is an extremely athletic, lefty combo guard who shot it well and finished in traffic with authority. Playing predominantly point guard in these runs, Compas was excellent at pushing the ball in transition. At the defensive end, his on-ball pressure was impressive and he forced a number of TOs. Compas played with a ton of energy and extra spring in his legs. He told me he is hearing from a number of schools including Millersville, Marywood and Lincoln.
Justin Green Justin Green 6'5" | SF Pope John Paul II | 2021 State PA – 6’6” / Senior / Pope John Paul II / Wing: A 2nd team All-State selection after the 2019-20 season, Green’s all-around game showed improvement this fall. Green remains an ace from deep (38% from three last winter), but this fall the wiry perimeter player also showed he can score off the bounce. Additionally, he did an excellent job of getting teammates involved.
Anquan Hill Anquan Hill 6'8" | PF Archbishop Carroll | 2021 State PA – 6’5’’ / Senior / Archbishop Carroll / Forward: A long and lean athlete with hops, Hill is a shot blocking machine. He displayed the ability to protect the rim in the half-court or via the chase down block. At the other end, he owned the offensive glass and finished over defenders with authority. Lastly, a decent jump shot is part of his skill set. Holds offers from a number of schools including Saint Joe’s and Drexel.
Lucas Orchard – 6’3’’ / Sophomore / Devon Prep / Wing: Orchard’s tenacity, athleticism, wingspan and ability to read the passing lanes led to numerous transition baskets for Devon Prep this fall. This kid simply has a nose for the ball whether it’s on the glass, in the air or on the floor. He scored at all three levels and was also a willing passer. Orchard is a skilled wing who played with a great deal of energy. He is a 2023 prospect we will definitely keep a close eye on.
2nd Team All-League:

Ryan Mackey – 6’0’’ / Senior / Conestoga / Point Guard
Argel “IV” Pettit – 6’2” / Junior / Devon Prep / Combo Guard
