While we’re certainly taking things one day at a time, the prospects of high school basketball occurring in the DMV this winter are more promising now than they have been in quite a while. In anticipation of this, we will be rolling out preview content over the next several weeks. Here is a look at the Preseason All-Senior Teams for DC Public Schools.

First Team

G - [player_tooltip player_id="902057" first="Rasheed" last="Dupree"]

Dupree’s distinguished resume speaks for itself. The guy wins games. Period.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="775329" first="Michael" last="Aiken"]

Aiken (pictured) has been on the map since his freshman year at TMA. It’s been a joy to watch him grow into the amazing player he’s become.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="902082" first="Jasir" last="Tremble"]

Tremble broke out against Wilson last year and managed to carry that momentum all the way through the high school season into the fall at the PYBL Showcase. He’s legit.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="902024" first="Saveon" last="Jackson"]

Jackson is a do-it-all type who you want on your side when things get tight. He’s a flat-out winner.

F - [player_tooltip player_id="836494" first="Maurice" last="Johnson"]

Johnson was an easy pick to make the first team. He led the DC Metro Area in scoring in a year where he regularly flirted with 30 points per game.

Second Team

G - DaJuan McMillan

McMillan has been a potent offensive weapon for Coach Shackelford at Friendship Tech for a while now. You could certainly make a strong case that he deserves to make the first team.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="902028" first="Miasiah" last="Brown"]

Brown was another tough omission from the first team. He's a solid college prospect who makes a tremendous impact on the defensive side of the ball.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="902027" first="Jamiyl" last="Kirkland Jr."]

Kirkland is a big guard who is a nice compliment to McMillan in the Tech Prep back-court. He can play with or without the ball and is dangerous in transition.

F - [player_tooltip player_id="836530" first="Chris" last="Mateo"]

Mateo has been an underappreciated glue guy at Dunbar who can do more but knows how to play his role. He is a solid three-and-D wing prospect who should be in line for a big season.

F - [player_tooltip player_id="954249" first="Christian" last="DeLarosa"]

Energy is DeLaRosa's calling card, and he brings it every time he steps on the floor. He's an important part of what they do at EL Haynes.

Third Team

G - [player_tooltip player_id="902074" first="Michael" last="Cheadle"]

Cheadle keeps the ball on a string and knows what to do with it. He emerged as a reliable playmaker for Dunbar last season and earned a spot on this list.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="836516" first="Mark" last="Aiken"]

Aiken's importance at TMA should not be understated. He's obviously a great compliment to his brother in the back-court and is a good player as well.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="954246" first="Nasir" last="Best"]

Best fills a myriad of roles at Wilson. He can initiate offense and defend, which makes him a simple choice for the third team.

G - [player_tooltip player_id="902035" first="Ya’Qin" last="Staton"]

Staton is another good defender who makes the list because he can play both ends of the floor. He is in good form this fall and looks fully recovered over a year removed from his knee injury.

F - [player_tooltip player_id="902067" first="Stanley" last="Marsh"]

On a relatively undersized team at TMA, Marsh brings some muscle in the paint. He is an indispensable part of that team and is included on this list as a result.
