Top 250 – Scout’s Notes

<p>The Prep Hoops Michigan Top 250 Expo was a scout’s dream. A collection of talent at all levels, gathered in 1 facility, battling with each other all evening. I guess I’d consider myself old school in how I go about my business - A notebook and pen. When the last game ended at the Top 250, I had page after page after page of notes from throughout the event. I’m going to give you an insight into some of the things that I saw at the event. So here it is, a sample of my scout’s notes!</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/10/27_Keyon-Mayfield-JrPrepHoops-2.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1061823" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/10/27_Keyon-Mayfield-JrPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="811109" first="Keyon" last="Menifield"] Jr. </strong>- putting it in another gear! 3 pointer - 3 feet beyond the arc; 7 quick points + 2 +2 +2......18 points in first 12 minutes! *Ranked too low - MOVE UP!!!!</p> <p><strong>Gregory Thomas </strong>- like how he’s active, trying to make a difference; Hustle on D from halfcourt - create turnovers - uses strength and quick hands</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1067861" first="Sam" last="Leppien"]</strong> - skilled post with good feet on offense; Rebounds high and keeps it up; Quick put back bucket</p> <p><strong>Delricco Gillespie </strong>- Glad he came! Really like his game! Versatile - mid range threat, seems to be a big at heart.....athletic and strong! Need to see him play high school season!</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1067860" first="Jalen" last="Overway"]</strong> - Physical presence - back to basket - backs defender down</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="814573" first="Aidan" last="Rubio"] </strong>- Even more athletic/bouncy than I thought yesterday. Playing with an edge. Playmaker off dribble. 3 level scorer - not sure he can be stopped tonight. MOVE UP!!!</p> <p><strong>Grady Schippers</strong> - Next in line standout at Allendale....</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863922" first="Brady" last="Titus"]</strong> - Likes playing off a screen; Directs the offense; Nice finish through contact; Staying low and pesky on D</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="960318" first="Christian" last="Johnson"]</strong> - Natural fit at point guard - really feeling the game</p> <p><strong>Christian Jordan</strong> - Looks really comfortable with a catch and shoot 3 pointer</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="814577" first="D’Anthony" last="Hamilton"]</strong> - Outstanding outlet pass - quick out of hands/up court/on target; Physically strong; Like the lefty take and finish</p> <p><strong>Christian Humphrey-Rembert</strong> - Length - uses it on D - in passing lanes/engulfing offensive player</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="986889" first="Teddy" last="Williams"]</strong> - Good boxout - impressed with physicality - really brought it tonight</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1055898" first="Alec" last="Albrecht"]</strong> - Talks on D- ALOT; Will make it tough for HS coach to take him out of game because of being defensive QB</p>
