2021 Summer Stars Producing Early

<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">Through a shortened summer ball schedule, several 2021s rose their stock. That difference making play that earned all-tournament team in the offseason translates to their final year of high school hoops. After GASO’s most recent fall ball showcase, it’s time to check in our three must watch seniors.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1008492" first="Kaden" last="Morgan"] dazzled as a playmaker for his summer team Texas Legion. After a summer of media attention, his solid perimeter defense is shining with Byron Nelson. His quickness and long arms make him a capable backcourt defender. On offense, Morgan has the range to space the floor with a consistent corner three and gives you a more than capable second ball handler on the court.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1047576" first="Jesse" last="Iweze"]</strong></p>
<p>An undersized power forward that makes up for his size with athleticism and above-average ball skills for the position. During the summer he did the dirty work for a superpowered Basketball Means More backcourt. His senior season will be more of the same as Jesse brings his shot altering, strong finishing around the rim, reigning team defensive player of the year winning vertical pop to anchor Byron Nelson’s defense. Iweze also stands out as a break starter thanks to his rebounding, straight-line handle, and speed in the open court.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="887088" first="Noah" last="McDavid"]</strong></p>
<p>The 6-6 guard spent his summer working the wing as one of the most versatile 2021s in the DFW. He’s defended all over the perimeter and scored on a steady diet of mid-range and transition plays. Now McDavid will bring that versatility to his fourth varsity season at Lake Highlands. As the leader of the team, McDavid will also play lead playmaker where he excels in getting in the paint, collapsing defenses, and finding teammates in scoring position. The dangerous off-ball cutting he showed this summer translates for the limited time his Lake Highlands’ offense differs to their young talent.</p>
