5A has some solid prospects across the board. Which will make for a fun season with some good competition. Region 7 will be tough but so will Region 5. A lot of unknowns in Region 8.

When it comes to teams that not only return some solid players from last years season, this year it seems as if Timpview has some players that have been there for longer than 4 years. Timpview has some solid returning pieces that will make them the favorite going into the season. With the absolute surge that [player_tooltip player_id="755614" first="Jake" last="Wahlin"] had this off-season I just can’t see him being placed on the blocks the entire game. The 6’7 W has been excellent out playing the guard position, so much so that he not only earned some tough Division 1 scholarship offers, but he has committed to BYU. Returning [player_tooltip player_id="543075" first="Coleman" last="Ford"] and [player_tooltip player_id="543092" first="Jaxon" last="Santiago"] will be tough to deal with. They also have a young player [player_tooltip player_id="934031" first="James" last="Rust"] who could really give them an extra player that can score and defend.

The next two teams have a few players that could absolutely go off. Farmington will be lead by junior guard [player_tooltip player_id="934472" first="Collin" last="Chandler"] who has been getting major attention not only from the local basketball heads but by some national scouts as well. The 6’4 G is a fun player to watch. He is starting to really develop and turn into a star. Collin can go out and get you a bucket as he can create his own shot. He will be a tough player to stop.

Alta High School has a must watch player of their own in 6’9 [player_tooltip player_id="755620" first="Jaden" last="Brownell"]. Jaden has really turned the Division 1 heads because he is turning into a sought out prospect that can really hurt you in the mid-range area. He can pull-out another teams defender because he shoots the ball really well from outside, which allows lanes to open for other players. He is a great passer as he can always find cutters and open teammates. He is a must watch.

Lehi High School has opened up their offense a bit with a new coach at the helm, this can be a plus for Dixie State commit Noa Gonzalves and team. Lehis is a dangerous team from the outside.

Bountiful will be interesting to watch this year with some new players getting some action. But the most notable player on the roster is Robert Wahley who could be unstoppable at times. He recently committed to CSI and will keep working hard to see if he could land a D1 before the year comes to an end.

Provo is a team that showed which direction they are going in last season’s playoff run. Watch for Juan Pablo Camargo to have a nice season. He is a wing that can play on both ends of the floor.

Olympus is another team that has two players that can really help them turn the corner and get back to where Olypus is used to being and that is on top. [player_tooltip player_id="755622" first="Ben" last="Krystowiak"] and Jack Wistircill have the offensive firepower to really run teams out of the gym. This is an inside outside combo that can give opposing teams problems.

Murray surprised a lot of teams last season with their energetic youth and long ball making ability. [player_tooltip player_id="934036" first="Chudi" last="Anosike"] is a player to watch. Timpanogos could be that team that sneaks up on some teams with the combination of [player_tooltip player_id="969630" first="Bron" last="Roberts"] and Jaxon Holcombe they could really make a run.

Box Elder has some players that can make some noise in [player_tooltip player_id="755619" first="Parker" last="Buchanan"].
