AZ Top-250 EXPO: AZ Junior Newcomers

<p>On October 11th I attended the <strong>Arizona Top-250 EXPO</strong> at Inspire Courts in Gilbert, AZ. </p> <p>There were around 110-115 players who attended the event divided into 12 different teams. </p> <p>Players were from Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Washington.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Each team played 3 full games and the games were very competitive. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Here were some of the new faces in the junior class:</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1066486" first="Diego" last="Ruybalid"] (Valley Christian) (Pictured)   </strong></p> <p>-A crafty PG is a first time viewer for me. He has a shifty handle and uses the hesitation to his advantage. He can make catch-3's and get into the lane and make a play off of it. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1067124" first="David" last="Bright"] (Willow Canyon)</strong></p> <p>-Another new player for me brought a lot of energy each outing on the defensive end. He is a good rebounder in and out of his area for a wing and he can hit 3's off the catch. He also showed some athleticism and is a sneaky good passer. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1066487" first="Greg" last="Anderson"] (Fairfax)</strong></p> <p>-An athletic scoring guard has a decent shooting stroke plus he uses the floater well. He is best off the catch-3 and he has some serious jets to get passed defenders to finish off layups. His defense was on point as he is extremely fast on the ball with impressive lateral quicks. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1066488" first="Alex" last="Manning"] (Pusch Ridge)</strong></p> <p>-A thicker and strong forward with long arms can really rebound the ball at a high rate. He has a nice FT touch and is an active inside defender. He can score around the cup and Pusch Ridge is looking like a real sleeper team in Tucson for 3A. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1066489" first="Josh" last="Rodgers"] (Horizon) </strong></p> <p>-A true combo guard is a very smart passer and plays with a high IQ. He can play on or off the ball and score it or make plays. He is a good catch 3pt shooter and decent off the pull. He gives the Huskies another weapon to go along with their other talented juniors. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1067125" first="Noah" last="Rasmussen"] (Chandler Prep)</strong></p> <p>-Another combo guard is extremely smart with a huge IQ. He is a good passer and plays at his own pace. He takes contact well with a stronger frame and can make the catch-3. He is an unselfish player with making many extra passes. He should have a big year in 2A this season. </p>
