The 2022 class is quite a talented group especially when it comes to the positional breakdown. Here’s a look at the Top 10 Shootings in the 2022 North Carolina rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id="577841" first="Freddie" last="Dilione"] | 6’5 | Trinity Christian

Dilione is due for a breakout year at Trinity Christian as a three level that can score it at a high level. He’ll share the backcourt this season with [player_tooltip player_id="848063" first="Cam" last="Oates"], making them a top backcourt duo in the Fayetteville area. They’ve also got [player_tooltip player_id="1062098" first="Da’Von" last="McKayhan"] and [player_tooltip player_id="838058" first="Robert" last="Wright"] in the frontcourt making them quite the rotation on paper given what Dilione brings to the table as a scorer, shooter and defender. He holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky with more coming soon.

[player_tooltip player_id="848080" first="Michael" last="Zanoni"] | 6’5 | Greensboro Day

Zanoni will join the Greensboro Day ranks after spending time at Providence Day this past season where he was a premier shooter for them on the wing. He knocked down 95 3-pointers while shooting 45 percent from the field in 2019-20. Since then, he’s developed into a high-level sharpshooter behind the perimeter and then some as his confidence and prowess as a scorer has grown. Look for him to turn a corner in 2020-21. UMBC and Mount St. Mary’s have offered him already.

[player_tooltip player_id="848060" first="Po’Boigh" last="King"] | 6’4 | Word of God

King’s stock has cooled off a bit since getting off to a fast start in the high school season this past fall with offers from Arizona State and Ole Miss flowing in. He’s still a sharpshooter that can get hot in a hurry on the wing as he proved this past year at Word of God with a slew of big games. He put up 40 points on 13-of-21 shooting along with eight rebounds against Our Saviour Lutheran and 35 points on 8-of-10 shooting from 3-point range against St. Louis Christian, to name a few games. Look for him to build on his sophomore season.

[player_tooltip player_id="577863" first="Jamori" last="McDougald"] | 6’1 | Trinity Christian

McDougald is a confident shooter that tends to shoot with a bit of volume but when he sees that first shot go in, it’s on. He showed he could make an impact on the perimeter against some top competition in the grassroots ranks. He’ll be another shooter on the wing to keep an eye on at Trinity Christian alongside [player_tooltip player_id="577841" first="Freddie" last="Dilione"] and company. He put up 7.5 ppg and 3.5 apg while shooting 35 percent (41-of-117) from 3-point range in 2019-20.

[player_tooltip player_id="848076" first="Donovan" last="Atwell"] | 6’5 | Davidson Day

Atwell was a familiar name this past high school season at Lake Norman Charter, where he put up numbers as their leader on the perimeter. He’ll be a new face in the Davidson Day rotation with the ability to create on all three levels. He’s an intriguing prospect given his ability to compete on both ends with an offer from Winthrop.

[player_tooltip player_id="574446" first="Bryce" last="Alfino"] | 6’4 | Combine Academy

Alfino spent the 2019-20 season at Davidson Day where he was one of their top defenders and shooters on the wing. In 2020-21, he’ll play a bigger role in a backcourt of [player_tooltip player_id="854888" first="Robert" last="Dillingham"], [player_tooltip player_id="932025" first="Kris" last="Robinson"] and others on the floor. His game should take a step up entering his junior year as he joins the ranks of a team with a defense first philosophy. It will be interesting to watch his growth. He holds an offer from Howard.

[player_tooltip player_id="848069" first="Cinque" last="Lemon"] | 6’4 | Cape Fear Christian

Lemon is an emerging shooting guard prospect that’s slowly found his confidence as the high school season approaches with Team Dawg. He’s already an aggrssive slasher with the ball in his hands but as he grows as a shooter on the wing, his recruitment should begin to grow.

[player_tooltip player_id="577852" first="Jalen" last="Higgins"] | 6’5 | Village Christian

Higgins is a long and wiry guard that likes to get out on the break and knock down shots on the perimeter and create for others off the bounce. He’s unselfish in the open court getting downhill and making things happen at the shooting guard spto. He’s an emerging prospect to keep an eye on after a productive year at Village Christian in 2019-20.

[player_tooltip player_id="932138" first="Logan" last="Threatt"] | 6’3 | Concord First Assembly

Threatt was a familiar name this past spring/summer on the grassroots scene with Team Curry while playing on the 17U squad. He showed he can space the floor and find his shot in rhythm with ease and is due to play a big role in Concord First Assembly’s rotation alongside Lipscomb bound guard [player_tooltip player_id="838045" first="Trae" last="Benham"]. He’ll be a solid one-two combination on the wing and a nice change of pace with point guard [player_tooltip player_id="932065" first="Javian" last="Cannady"] running the show. He holds an offer from UNC-Wilmington.

[player_tooltip player_id="848082" first="Noah" last="Ross"] | 6’6 | Trinity Academy (Raleigh)

Ross is a growing name in the 2022 class and due for a strong junior campaign after putting up 16.5 ppg and 4.6 rpg and shooting 36 percent from 3-point range as a sophomore. He’s got confidence shooting the ball from all over the floor on all three levels and a knack for getting after it on the defensive end. He holds offers from Elon, Florida International, Hofstra and Eastern Kentucky.

Honorable Mention

[player_tooltip player_id="577856" first="Davon" last="Jones"] | 6’4 | Hunt

[player_tooltip player_id="869623" first="Xavier" last="Thornton"] | 6’3 | Moravian Prep

[player_tooltip player_id="993656" first="Evan" last="Montanari"] | 6’1 | East Lincoln

[player_tooltip player_id="848088" first="Sam" last="Cogan"] | 6’3 | Lincoln Charter

[player_tooltip player_id="1028010" first="Gabe" last="Proctor"] | 6’2 | Apex Friendship
