Jason Edwards Jason Edwards 5'11" | CG Parkview | 2021 State GA , 6-1, PG, Parkview
Perhaps the day’s best overall performer, certainly it’s most boisterous, Edwards brought not just the energy but a ton of skill at the lead guard spot, super speedy with the ball he’s unafraid to get into the meat of the defense and finish in tight, coming off a very strong summer he also showed off a consistent outside touch from beyond the arc which rounds out his skill-set as a complete guard out front, can guard you with the best of them as well, an absolute steal for a program looking for 4 years of energetic, composed and skilled guard play.
Jordan James Jordan James 6'3" | SF Kennesaw Mountain | 2021 State GA , 6-3, SG, Kennesaw Mountain
Here we go again with James who just comes out every game and does a bunch of stuff that forces you to notice, because of his great frame and size he can easily slide over and play the 4 for a D2 or D3 program that has the foresight to recognize it, he can score from out beyond the arc but truly does his damage in the mid-range and near the basket where most matchups he’ll see this winter will simply not be able to match his strength and skill combination, just love what I see from him night in and night out.
Jamisen Winters Jamisen Winters 6'2" | PG Chapel Hill | 2021 State GA , 6-3, PG, Chapel Hill
It’s been the general consensus since early in the summer that with Micah Bell’s transfer out of state that this was going to be Winters chance to shine, he has since displayed the skills needed to step into that alpha role, loved the way he competed against a slew of elite guards on hand, didn’t back down and showed plenty of offensive moxie and poise, like Edwards got it done outside and in going into traffic and waging some terrific one-one-one battles at the other end defensively, on what should be another strong Panthers club Winters will attract eyeballs with his versatile qualities.
Kervens Yacinthe Kervens Yacinthe 6'5" | SF Paulding County | 2021 State GA , 6-5, CG, Paulding County
Like the 5 before him, Yacinthe again displayed the kind of versatility that must have had the many coaches in attendance drooling at the prospects, big, deceptively quick and equipped with a confidence and flash that can take over stretches of the game, plenty adept at the long-range shot, it’s using his accomplished handle at 6-5 that can make him tough to guard as he breaks a defense down, love his ability like James to guard multiple spots up through the forward position, it’s that cast of skills that has been on display all summer and will be fun to watch as he leads Patriots this coming season.
Kristian Ford Kristian Ford 6'5" | SG East Paulding | 2021 State GA , 6-4, SG, East Paulding
Another weekend another superlatives list for Ford, who from a purely offensive standpoint once again took home top honors in my book, just terrific versatility in how the score the basketball, a great recognition of those opportunities and an absolutely decisive pattern of going after them and converting at a high level, “steal” hardly covers how good a coach is going to look to his AD when he finally lands Ford on his campus.
Bryce Wilson Bryce Wilson 6'4" | SF Dacula | 2021 State GA , 6-4, SG, Dacula
What I’ve seen from Wilson of late has really highlighted his gifts, so strong, so well put together, he can flat out bully his way to points yet in a very polished fashion, he finished off the bounce as impressively as anyone on the day and with that strong frame came out of the day as one of its top rebounding guards as well, the athleticism means he can be a monster force off the break at the next level and as his shooting range and consistency improves could be the kind of player who at the next level could take his label from “great athlete” to “great basketball player.”
