2022 Stock Risers

A look at the class of 2022’s top movers in our most recent rankings update.

3. 6-8 PF [player_tooltip player_id="810374" first="Kendall" last="Campbell"] – Milton
(Up from No. 14)

While it might not have been the largest jump, it may have been the most significant. [player_tooltip player_id="810374" first="Kendall" last="Campbell"]’s dominance late in the travel season against Georgia’s best has helped stamp him as the top big man in the Peach State heading into the high school season. Campbell scores in a variety of ways and has a college-ready body that can punish defenders who try to guard him on the low block. He’s a strong rebounder and can score out of face-ups and from the three-point line. Add in the fact that he’s a solid rim protector and a good athlete and you have yourself a High Major forward.

14. 6-6 W [player_tooltip player_id="677695" first="Josh" last="Reed"] – Pace Academy
(Up from No. 27)

[player_tooltip player_id="677695" first="Josh" last="Reed"] had some monster games this summer and showed a diverse skillset that plays on both ends of the floor. Reed has the three-point shooting of a knockdown guard but the length and defensive prowess of a shot blocking big man. He’s got great upside as a perimeter defender on the wing and he’s shown the ability to get to the basket and finish with authority. He’s made a huge jump in a year.

21. 6-3 W [player_tooltip player_id="870172" first="Sammy" last="Moss"] – East Coweta
(Up from No. 45)

With [player_tooltip player_id="868076" first="Chris" last="Youngblood"] and [player_tooltip player_id="806489" first="Brandon" last="Stroud"] off to Kennesaw State, East Coweta is now [player_tooltip player_id="870172" first="Sammy" last="Moss"] and [player_tooltip player_id="820279" first="Austen" last="Colton"]’s team. Moss, known for his toughness, athleticism and aggressiveness, showcased a much improved three-point shot that lit up defenses this summer. Possessing the skill to now go inside and out along with a junkyard dog mentality on defense, [player_tooltip player_id="870172" first="Sammy" last="Moss"]’ 24-spot rise comes as no surprise.

23. 6-4 SG [player_tooltip player_id="870204" first="Keith" last="Robbins"] – St. Francis
(Up from No. 91)

A move from GMC to St. Francis and playing with Team Dickerson has already paid dividends as [player_tooltip player_id="870204" first="Keith" last="Robbins"] picked up an offer from Xavier on September 1. Robbins is a sweet-shooting guard that can get to the basket and finish above the rim. He’s a cerebral player that will find plenty of chances to score in St. Francis’ potent backcourt. The more reps he gets against high level competition, the better he will get. He skyrockets 68 positions.

24. 6-7 PF [player_tooltip player_id="1050038" first="Daniel" last="Pounds"] – Forest Park
(Up from Unranked)

Unranked a year ago, hidden on a 6-win team, [player_tooltip player_id="1050038" first="Daniel" last="Pounds"] is coming and coming on strong. He’s got a great motor and is an exceptional athlete that rim runs all game long. He crashes the glass extremely hard and can alter shots in the paint. Pounds has a developing three-point shot that is playable at the high school level and could continue to improve. All the tools are there for [player_tooltip player_id="1050038" first="Daniel" last="Pounds"] to become a High Major prospect.

26. 6-3 SG [player_tooltip player_id="870202" first="Dylan" last="Wolle"] – Sequoyah
(Up from No. 87)

Not many players filled it up more than [player_tooltip player_id="870202" first="Dylan" last="Wolle"]. He had some offensive eruptions throughout the summer and carried the Georgia Legacy offensively, helping put the independent program on the map as one of Georgia’s best 16U groups. Wolle is an elite shooter from the mid-range and three-point line. He’s always on balance and rises to get clean looks at the hoop. Dylan has strong footwork in the paint and can score out of the post when needed. He is going to have a breakout season at Sequoyah and already has Mercer and Jacksonville offers in his back pocket with Belmont on verge of adding to the list.

32. 6-6 PF [player_tooltip player_id="1011349" first="Mason" last="Lockhart"] – Carver-Atlanta
(Up from Unranked)

The steady and efficient play of [player_tooltip player_id="1011349" first="Mason" last="Lockhart"] has the big man all the way at No. 32 in his first look at the rankings. Lockhart provides toughness on the low block. He can score with his back to the basket and in face-up scenarios. He’s a strong rebounder with soft hands and understands how to position his body and seal defenders when posting up. Lockhart picked up an offer from Mercer this summer.

41. 6-2 CG [player_tooltip player_id="1011348" first="Mitchell" last="Taylor"] – Carver-Atlanta
(Up from Unranked)

A dynamic scoring guard that put up points and assists this offseason for the D-Favors Celtics, [player_tooltip player_id="1011348" first="Mitchell" last="Taylor"] has caught the attention of D-I schools, namely CSU Bakersfield who was among the first to show interest. Taylor is tough with the ball in his hands. He’s able to create separation and get into the heart of the defense to either score or set up teammates. The duo of he and [player_tooltip player_id="1011349" first="Mason" last="Lockhart"] should have Carver-Atlanta contending for a postseason bid.

45. 6-6 F [player_tooltip player_id="1011352" first="Aidan" last="Hadaway"] – LaFayette
(Up from Unranked)

The best motor I saw all offseason belonged to [player_tooltip player_id="1011352" first="Aidan" last="Hadaway"]. The habitual double-double man plays like his hair is on fire, flying all over the court. Hadaway covers ground like a gazelle and never gets tired. He swoops in for rebounds and always brings energy in the paint. The lefty played up in 17U and was the most consistent rebounder the state had to offer. With a little more fine tuning, Hadaway could be a legit D-I prospect.

50. 6-6 F [player_tooltip player_id="952581" first="Izaiyah" last="Nelson"] – Marietta
(Up from No. 75)

Another energetic forward, [player_tooltip player_id="952581" first="Izaiyah" last="Nelson"] is more than just a rim protector, he’s now becoming a reliable scorer. Nelson wipes the glass at a high rate and can score around the bucket, but his three-point shot is steadily improving as well. He has the upside to add on some more guard skills and if he does, Nelson could become a household name. D-II’s and Low Major D-I’s will want to track his progress. His best basketball is still ahead of him.
