COMMITMENTS
2021 Frederick Douglass/DC Premier forward Abdou Samb Abdou Samb 6'8" | C Frederick Douglass | 2021 State MD committed to Rhode Island. Head coach David Cox is no stranger to the DMV area as he and his staff are well-established in dipping down into the hotbed for talent. In Samb, they’ll get a long, active forward at 6-foot-8 who has plenty of promise. He can score from inside or out, runs the floor with intent and can be a shot disrupter and rebounding presence on the defensive end. Samb is in a great situation to continue his development and be an integral part of the Rams’ rotation by the time he’s a junior.
2021 River Hill/Team Thrill guard Nick Marshall Nick Marshall 6'4" | CG River Hill | 2021 State MD made his pledge to Loyola (MD). The 6-foot-4 guard brings versatility and shot-making to the Hounds’ rotation and will join David Brown as two DMV prospects that are included in their 2021 class. The two have much to offer and should see productive careers in the Patriot League for a Loyola program who has established themselves much stronger in the Baltimore Metro area.
OFFERS
2021 Eleanor Roosevelt/District Basketball Club wing Thomas Whitley Thomas Whitley 6'6" | PF Eleanor Roosevelt | 2021 State MD received his first Division I offer to date from Army West Point. Thomas is the focal point of a slew of Division II programs and will continue to be going forward. Chestnut Hill and Gannon have both offered.
2021 Mount St. Joseph guard Jalen White Jalen White 6'2" | CG Mount St. Joseph | 2021 State MD received his first Division I offer to date from Navy. The 6-foot-3 combo guard is a senior transfer from Old Mill. The chances of actually having a high school season continue to improve. With that being said, I see White having a significant impact for the Gaels providing toughness, shot-making and versatility in the backcourt.
2021 Parkville guard Darrius Tilghman Darrius Tilghman 6'3" | PG Parkville | 2021 State MD received an offer from Millersville. Tilghman, who has generated plenty of interest from low-to-mid major Division I programs has been battling lingering injuries throughout his high school career. He recently had a good showing at DMV Elite’s Fall Showcase as the 6-foot-4 southpaw displayed how he can facilitate and distribute as the point guard. Tilghman is very open to all levels and I’m confident in saying this won’t be his only Division II offer.
2022 Glenelg Country/Team Thrill wing Noah Batchelor Noah Batchelor 6'6" | SF IMG Academy | 2022 State #184 Nation FL received an offer from Pittsburgh. The Panthers are the fifth ACC program to offer the 6-foot-7 wing along with a variety of other power five teams. Batchelor is coming off of a productive summer and will look to be the focal point of Glenelg Country as a junior.
2022 Wilson/Team Durant wing Darren Buchanan Jr. Darren Buchanan Jr. 6'7" | PF Woodrow Wilson | 2022 State #101 Nation MD had an extremely busy week as he received offers from Rutgers, VCU and Xavier. Buchanan is a 6-foot-6 swiss army knife that can impact the box score in a multitude of ways. The Scarlet Knights and the Musketeers are the second and third Big East program respectively to offer with Seton Hall being the other. Buchanan also holds offers from Akron, Bryant, George Washington, North Texas and Rhode Island.
2022 DeMatha/New World wing Tyrell Ward Tyrell Ward 6'7" | SF DeMatha | 2022 State #56 Nation MD received an offer from Seton Hall and St. John’s. The Pirates have grown to be a regular face in the DMV and get themselves involved with the talented DeMatha product. Ward now holds eight offers in total and I don’t expect them to stop rolling in anytime soon with the potential he presents.
2022 Poly/Team Thrill point guard Bryce Lindsay Bryce Lindsay 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2022 State MD received an offer from George Mason. Lindsay’s stock is on the verge of taking a huge leap due to his performance this summer. He’s grown a couple of inches and is nearing 6-foot-3, comes with an absolute beautiful jumpshot that he can extend out to NBA range and has proven that he has the skill set to become a point guard at the collegiate level. A number of high majors are keeping tabs but as it stands today he also holds offers from Bryant, Howard, Mount St. Mary’s and VCU.
2022 Archbishop Spalding/Team Choo guard Jordan Pennick Jordan Pennick 6'1" | CG Archbishop Spalding | 2022 State MD received an offer from Chestnut Hill, his first to date. Pennick has been dominant this summer with a Team Choo squad who has consistently racked up wins thanks to his dynamic scoring prowess. It’s his first offer to date, but Pennick is a prospect who I expect to have a number of options when it’s all said and done.
2023 St. Frances/Team Durant guard Jahnathan Lamothe Jahnathan Lamothe 6'3" | CG St. Frances | 2023 State #204 Nation MD has been one of the biggest stock risers this summer and that momentum continued over the week as he picked up offers from Coastal Carolina and VCU. The rising sophomore now holds nine total offers with seven of them being from power five conference teams.
2023 Bishop Walsh forward Malik Bowman Malik Bowman 6'7" | PF Bishop Walsh | 2023 MD received an offer from Seton Hall. The 6-foot-8 southpaw is one of the more intruiging prospects in the class thanks to his size and versatility at his position. Bowman holds offers from Bryant, Georgetown, Virginia Tech and Witchita State.
