The R.O.W. "Rucker On Wood" is an organized open gym concept that hosts about 80 players from each graduating class from around the Greater Houston Area. This segment will feature FIVE New Faces that I saw at the event fro the class of 2023. It's always refreshing to see a new prospect and what they bring to the table against those people already know. As I always say everyone games grow at different rates.
[player_tooltip player_id='1332594' first='Kenneth' last='Lewis'] 6'4" W | C.E. King
Kenneth is uber-athletic and jams it with authority. He gets off the floor so quickly and looks like a burst of speed as he's in the air about to punch one home. He has a solid handle on the ball as well. Plays with a good motor and gets after the 50/50 balls even in this camp/open gym setting.
Maurion Edwards 5'10" PG | Port Arthur Memorial
Maurion was a solid point on the court. He has some shiftiness in his game. He was able to create for his teammates as well as create for himself off the dribble. He can shoot the ball good also from behind the arc.
Triston Williams 6'4" W | Stratford
Triston was really solid playing from the short corner of the entire event. He has a good motor and really good closeout speed defensively with great recovery. He plays both sides of the ball and was active on the glass as well.
[player_tooltip player_id='1509243' first='Jaylen' last='Reedus'] 6'3" G | Fort Bend Marshall
Jaylen is a bouncy guard that has really good floor speed. He threw down a couple of dunks in the game as well as shot the ball well in the mid-range and from deep. He has really quick hands defensively that allowed him to get many pokes and tip the ball out of bounds.
[player_tooltip player_id='1056402' first='Hawkins' last='Polley'] 6'4" SG | Stratford
Hawkins is a baseball prospect as well. He had a really good showing at the ROW. He had a great run on multiple times throughout the game. One time he hit three trey balls in a row. Then on another run, he had back-to-back-to-back dunks and one of them was a slight body. Has a solid frame and plays with a great motor. He was one of the top scorers on varsity last season and is looking to be the leading scorer this season.
