Bronx Rankings: #7-#1

<p>For the eighth and final installment of the Bronx rankings installment, the player talent level has improved dramatically. These are players who are likely to get multiple D1 offers and focus on basketball for college, and maybe even make a professional attempt. These prospects are a dream to have on any high school team, and it’s not to have success if they are.</p> <p><strong>Lemar Fulmore | Junior | Cardinal Hayes</strong></p> <p>This season for Cardinal Hayes, Lemar Fulmore was the perfect compliment on the Cardinal Hayes squad with star big man [player_tooltip player_id="945517" first="Shemani" last="Fuller"]. Where Fuller could be a force in the box, Fulmore could get the ball to him wide open. Fulmore has been the perfect complement, combining lockdown defense with great speed, playmaking and shooting, showing massive Division 1 potential.</p> <p><strong>Julian Baquero | Sophomore | All Hallows</strong></p> <p>In Bronx, the basketball powerhouses range from DeWitt Clinton to Fordham Prep to OSL, to even schools like WHEELS and Stepinac which aren’t even in the Bronx. All Hallows High School has been often overlooked, but Julian Baquero and his recent play has put it back on the map. His impeccable three point shot, as well as his affinity for the rim put him at an elite level and is bound to make waves in his next two years.</p> <p><strong>O’Zhell Jackson | Junior | Stevenson-Olympus Prep</strong></p> <p>After a monster season at the relatively obscure Stevenson in the Bronx, O’Zhell finally gained college exposure and even an offer. However, Jackson will be reclassifying and now be attending Olympus Prep, meaning his basketball career will take another step forward. Jackson, with a great motor for the rim as well as high flying athleticism, should be expected to not only make waves in the high school setting but soon the college one.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="945538" first="Ryan" last="McPartlan"] | Junior | Fordham Prep</strong></p> <p>Talk about superstar seasons. What makes a star a superstar is not just his performance on the court, but also the team’s performance overall. McPartlan consistently plays as an elite shooting guard, shooting the lights out and penetrating through the best defenders. However, just by McPartlan being on the floor, Fordham increased its performance, going all the way to win the CHSAA city championship with McPartlan as the tournament MVP. In what’s looking like a monster senior season, expect the bright, NY basketball lights to finally give McPartlan the shine he deserves.</p> <p><strong>Silas Sunday | Sophomore | Our Saviour Lutheran</strong></p> <p>Ireland isn’t known for its basketball, with the island nation producing only one NBA player. However, if there is anyone who figures to bring Irish basketball to prominence, it’s Silas Sunday. Coming over to OSL from Ireland itself, Sunday has wasted no time with putting his athletic rebounding and paint scoring on collegiate radars, with offers coming in from Division 1 powerhouses. As Sunday has 2 mor years to improve, one can only imagine what he will accomplish.</p> <p><strong>Noah Best | Sophomore | Mount St. Michael</strong></p> <p>What a season it has been for Noah Best. Best came out of his freshman season after a borderline, average season, but his sophomore season has been anything but that. No pun intended, but Best has turned into one of the cities best point guards, shooting from beyond the arc at an above average rate, while he can equally as well handle his way around defenders, taking on multiple men and still scoring at the rim.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="945517" first="Shemani" last="Fuller"] | Junior | Cardinal Hayes-Woodstock</strong></p> <p>Everything about [player_tooltip player_id="945517" first="Shemani" last="Fuller"] doesn’t just scream Division 1, but even borderline professional. Fuller has done anything expected of a 6’9” power forward is expected to do, from run the pick and rolls to control anywhere within 8 feet of the rim, as well as extra, such as a knockdown jumper and speed and athleticism seen mostly in guards. This seems to have paid off, as Fuller is nationally recognized, with every few days news of another program extending an offer to Fuller.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
