104 players from Arizona, California, New Mexico and Michigan battled it out. 12 teams with 8-9 players each.
Each team played 4 games with a possible All-Star game. The All-Star games lived up to the hype with many coaches walking away impressed with what they saw and 6 basketball offers were given out so far.
We will go back and look at each teams players.
Here is Team USC:
Top-20 game:
Moses Demalek Moses Demalek 6'7" | PF Paradise Valley | 2021 State AZ (Paradise Valley)
-One of the more unique players in the ’21 class. He is a true point forward at the 4-spot. He is super long with a tight handle for his position and sees the court like a PG. He also happens to be a top-notch on-ball defender staying with the guards/wings and rebounds plus block shots at a high rate inside. He gets into the lane and can score it on difficult contested layups or he has multiple post moves his uses to create his own offense. He can hit 3’s off the catch and from mid-range but this rare forward actually passes more then he shoots. His versatility on both ends of the floor will have coaches looking over his game film in this pandemic.
Isaiah Shaw Isaiah Shaw 6'6" | SF Phhoenix Prep | 2021 State AZ (Phhoenix Prep) (Pictured)
-Another rising senior talent moved in from Tennessee. He has a super polished and clean stroke from the 3pt line and is money from mid-range. His toughest move is his sudden jumper off the dribble from around 17-feet. The lefty is also a very good passer and is an unselfish player. Although thin, he fights hard inside for rebounds and will block shots. His ability to set himself up and be a knockdown shooter from deep had people buzzing of how gifted he is. His IQ is high like a son of a coach would be and he just plays the game the right way. A big addition to the Fire.
Top-40 game:
JP Musselmann JP Musselmann 6'6" | PF Brophy Prep | 2022 State AZ (Brophy Prep)
-A bouncy face-up 4/3 type that can score it from inside and out. He has a 3pt stroke and uses his springs to get inside and rebound or block shots. He is crafty around the hoop to score it with a decent handle to create his own shot and he can throw it down easily. His activity on defense, his incredible offensive rebounding, his shooting ability to go along with his live body makes him an attractive long term prospect.
Non-Senior game:
Pike Tancil Pike Tancil 6'2" | PG Willow Canyon | 2022 State AZ (Willow Canyon)
-A powerfully built guard who can play on or off the ball. He is a very good rebounder for a guard and loves getting downhill using his sturdy frame and tighter handle. He is tough on the ball defensively and shares the ball. He can make plays for others and his tough mindset and top motor translates to the next level.
Max Ware Max Ware 6'2" | CG Brophy Prep | 2022 AZ (Brophy Prep)
-A thicker combo guard who can post up smaller guards and take his man off the dribble. He is a good passer and he’s another player that uses his body to get into the lane. He is a capable 3pt shooter off the catch but is best at mid-range. His floater game is polished and he had an impressive 10 points in the all-star game.
Brandon Napier Brandon Napier 6'1" | PG Thatcher | 2023 State AZ (Thatcher)
-An extremely talented scoring lead guard that drove down 3 hours to participate daily. He has a real burst into the lane and can score on crafty layups and use the euro step. He also can make nifty passes to teammates and has good speed with the ball. His pull-up from mid-range was solid and he can hit the 3pt shot. He had 13 double-digit games on varsity last year as a freshman and he has to be one of the top underclassman in all of 3A.
Others:
Eydurus Muse Eydurus Muse 5'11" | PG Chandler | 2022 State AZ (Maryvale)
-A scoring PG who can score it a variety of ways. He can pull-up off the dribble and hit the 3pt shot plus he has a nice crossover to get by his defender. He was probably a snub for the non-senior all-star game but he showed his talents in the other regular games. He also is a good passer and is quick on the ball defensively. I am assuming the Panthers will be leaning on Muse this year to make them go in 6A.
Santino Weimer PG 5’7 2023 (Millennium)
-A sharp shooting lefty is a little undersized but skilled. He can pull-up off the dribble from mid to the 3pt line and is quick with the ball in his hands. He has to get stronger moving forward.
