His scoring iQ, shooting skills, ability to get to the rack and talent on the defensive end were each apparent at the event as he used his 6-foot-4-inch frame to his advantage.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Offensively, Nunez finished mightily about the rim; he pairs grace with power, so whether he needed to overwhelm a smaller, more agile defender or craft his way past a post, he was ready for the occasion. From the perimeter, he had a quick attack, later opening the gates for him to launch shots to stretch opposing defenses.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">His shooting was the paramount catalyst to his success, however. It was pretty much money any time Nunez fired-off from long range with spacing, and a package of carefully developed skills -- handle-to-loading mechanism, a threatening jab, crafty handles, and a swift release -- helped him get those opportunities.</span></p> <table style="width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; background-color: #fdffd6;"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="width: 100%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">[player_tooltip player_id="938851" first="Josh" last="Price"] | Oklahoma Hustle Black </span></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <table style="width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; background-color: #f2f0f0;"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="width: 50%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">6’3" SG</span></td> <td style="width: 50%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Edmond North ’21</span></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Price was really working out his game at the event; utilizing new tools, honing old ones and using his iQ to attack defenses in weak spots, he was pulling all the stops to <em>get a bucket </em>as he scored 10.3 points-a-contest at the showcase.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">His traditional offensive game predicates upon off-ball floating, getting to the corners and burning teams with elite efficiency while using his height to his advantage at the release point. However, his talents have further spread and applied to other areas of his offensive game, and his three performances at the event were indicative of what he has been working on. Namely, his handles and practiced maneuvers around the mid-range have improved, and he explored the liberty to score from floaters at the event. His accuracy was electric, and his outside-in game was a real joy to watch as his adaptable scoring skills allowed him to get the best of defenders time-after-time.</span></p> <table style="width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; background-color: #fdffd6;"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="width: 100%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">[player_tooltip player_id="938855" first="Jake" last="Gendron"] | Tulsa Hawks</span></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <table style="width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; background-color: #f2f0f0;"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="width: 50%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">6’5" SG</span></td> <td style="width: 50%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Bishop Kelley ’21</span></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Scoring 11 points-per-game at the showcase, Gendron shook out the rust early and played some of his best basketball at the event.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Among the top prospects at the event, Gendron came to facility Saturday morning with a pair of early-summer in-state offers from touted Division-II programs. He left the gym with his name highlighted on a few more coaches' rosters. With a 6-foot-5-inch frame, smooth athleticism and, as the kids would say, a <em>burner,</em> Gendron was one of the most talented pure shooters in the gym Saturday (though he was fishing for a dunk in his second game). </span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Gendron fired off his regular deep, stretchy 3-shots as usual while also displaying his talents inside the perimeter. The mid-range pull-up, slash to the bucket and finish above defenders were each on his agenda with a check-mark by the end of the day.</span></p> <table style="width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; background-color: #ffd6d6; height: 21px;"> <tbody> <tr style="height: 21px;"> <td style="width: 100%; text-align: center; height: 21px;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">[player_tooltip player_id="931235" first="J’Lynn" last="Counter"] | Oklahoma Chaos 10 ppg</span></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <table style="width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; background-color: #f2f0f0;"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="width: 50%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">6’2" PG</span></td> <td style="width: 50%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Southmoore ’20</span></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Following a standout senior season at Southmoore, Counter is hungry for more hoops in his post-graduate summer. The point guard was a standout performer at the showcase all day, displaying his crafty skills on the drive and elite accuracy at the perimeter.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Counter, offensively, has all of the tools, given or developed, to be a legitimate on-ball guard at the collegiate level. He's quick, agile and has a lanky frame to aid in hitting shots against defenders. He generally kept his wits in selecting shots at the event, an area where his game has lacked in the past. He hit shots from the arch, pulled-up from the mid-range and finished at the glass. His hand-work is the part of his game that makes him the most potent as a scorer.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">As a passer, Counter stands out the same. He's usually keen to making smart moves with the ball, fitting passes and looking for down-court plays in transition.</span></p> <table style="width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; background-color: #fdffd6;"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="width: 100%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">[player_tooltip player_id="745366" first="Landry" last="Harris"] | Oklahoma Power</span></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <table style="width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; background-color: #f2f0f0;"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="width: 50%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">5’10" PG</span></td> <td style="width: 50%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Edmond North ’21</span></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Harris was a high point on the day for Power. He was efficient but exercised some new maneuvers and techniques with the ball.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;">Harris's best attribute was his pairing of speed and control, exposed most frequently in transition. The incoming senior can hit top gear while maintaining seamlessness with the ball, and on a few occasions, he displayed some finesse, albeit his <em>wow</em> moves were usually purposeful. He finished well at the rack and was able to convert on a few shots from deep, an area of his game I would like to see on the forefront more often.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;"> Defensively, Harris was a tough task for opposing ball-handlers. He kept himself between his player and the goal, and was a menacing ball-hawk in off-ball situations.</span></p>
