AJ Burns took pride in defending at the MSHTV Camp and was especially effective against opposing lead guards. He got into a low stance, moved his feet well and consistently cut off penetration without giving ball-handlers easy driving lanes. Burns made guards work to initiate offense and rarely allowed them to get comfortable with the ball. His ability to contain at the point of attack was a clear strength on the defensive end.

Avery Bussaberger gave opposing guards problems with his size and strength at the MSHTV Camp. His physical frame allowed him to absorb contact, hold his ground and keep bigger ball-handlers from simply overpowering him on drives. Bussaberger used his body well to cut off angles and make opponents work for space rather than giving up direct paths to the basket. He was particularly effective when matched against stronger guards who wanted to play through contact.

Cayden Crane's quick feet were a major asset defensively at the MSHTV Camp. He mirrored opposing guards well off the dribble, reacting to changes of direction and staying connected without allowing easy separation. Crane's speed also helped him recover when necessary and close off driving opportunities before ball-handlers could turn the corner. His ability to match quicker guards step for step made it difficult for them to consistently create off the bounce.

Trustin Farmer was a difficult matchup for opposing lead guards at the MSHTV Camp because of how well he took away their initial actions. He applied consistent pressure on the ball, stayed square and forced ball-handlers away from the areas they wanted to operate. Farmer disrupted offensive rhythm without gambling, making it difficult for guards to initiate sets or create clean advantages off the dribble. His ability to neutralize primary ball-handlers made him one of the better perimeter defenders in attendance.

Dupree Smith consistently disrupted opposing guards at the MSHTV Camp with his activity and instincts defensively. He anticipated passing lanes well, got his hands on passes and generated deflections that regularly disrupted possessions. Smith also reacted quickly to loose balls and turned several of those plays into turnovers for his team. He had a knack for finding the basketball defensively and creating extra possessions with his effort.
