About Joyce: Joyce has led the Golden Bears in scoring in two of his first three seasons and is a skilled three-level combo guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands. An intelligent two-way player who understands the game better than most in his class, he's a versatile defender with the size, length, and athletic ability to defend one through four at this level. He has been one of the best players in small-school basketball since he was a freshman.

Why he can win Mr. Basketball: After leading Garrigan to the state tournament last season, Joyce got his name on a few more radars around the state. He's the type of dominant scoring guard who could put up massive numbers in his senior year following a number of losses to graduation, and if he's able to put up 22-24 points, 5 assists, and lead Garrigan back to the state tournament, he'll have the type of career numbers that few other players in the state will be able to point to.
