Indiana Elite Fall League | New Faces Standouts

The Indiana Elite Fall League provided another great opportunity to get a look at talent from across the state, and several new faces made a strong first impression. These were players I either hadn't seen much of previously or was getting my first extended look at, and each gave me plenty of reasons to take notice as the fall league unfolded: Intriguing High Motor Forward from Bloomington North that seemed to know his role and excelled at it in a big way. Always put himself in positions to be successful. [player_tooltip player_id='3787057' first='Tevin' last='Bridgewaters'] is a big time rebounder on both ends of the floor. Plays with physicality, but also showed nice touch around the basket on the offensive end. Capable straight line driver that plays through and seems to welcome contact. Should be a ln important piece for what has the chance to be a talented Bloomington North team this season. First time getting to see the confident shooting guard out of Eastern Greene. 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='3787058' first='Grady' last='Callison'] showed he is comfortable playing on or off the ball. Got going in the first game of the day from the perimeter and with his midrange game. Got to his spots effortlessly and showed some big time shot making with tough contested jumpers. Also got all the way to the basket for a couple and-ones. High IQ guard that is apart of a loaded backcourt for Eastern Greene and has the chance to have a solid senior season. 2030 Guard out of Bloomington South that will have a standout career for the Panthers. Mature beyond his years, [player_tooltip player_id='3735447' first='Will' last='Deckard'] is a confident lead guard that did a good job balancing his scoring and facilitating. Plays at his own pace and was difficult to speed up despite facing a half court trap in the championship game. Deceptively quick guard that understands angles and once he gets his defender on his hip he does a good job keeping him away from the ball. Struggled a bit to finish today, but loved the poise he plays. Not sure if he will get varsity time this season, but will no doubt be an impact player for the Bloomington South program in the future. First time getting a look at Loogootee 2027 Power Forward [player_tooltip player_id='3787059' first='Clayton' last='Miller'] and he put on one of the more impressive scoring displays in the first half of game one that I saw on the day. Physical frame with good footwork and good hands. Soft touch over his left shoulder got him a couple easy buckets underneath before stepping out and getting hot from the perimeter. Went on a nice heater from three hitting 3 in a row in a matter of five possessions and then made a nice move with a jab step and hit a long contested two. Skilled offensive player for his size that was comfortable putting the ball on the floor and made some nice reads as an offensive hub in the middle of the floor. Should be an impact player for the Lions this season with his size and shot making ability. First real look at the high potential 2030 Guard out of Edgewood and he certainly did not disappoint. [player_tooltip player_id='3787053' first='Zaden' last='Norris'] is a 6'2” long and lanky guard that had his offensive game going from the opening tip. Good shooter off the catch, but is best when getting downhill. Long and quick first step gets him to his spots and he's a crafty finisher that uses his length to his advantage around the rim. He's a disruptive defender that is capable of guarding multiple positions with his length, size, and quickness. High motor prospect that is only scratching the surface of what he can become and has the chance to be an impactful piece for a talented Edgewood team. Intriguing 2028 big man from Shakamak that controlled the paint on both ends of the floor in the parts of the game I got to see. Really good rebounder with his strong frame. [player_tooltip player_id='3787060' first='Jackson' last='Roberts'] carves out space and moves well for a player his size. Good footwork and a soft touch over his right shoulder. Also showed nice passing ability out of the post finding open shooters on the perimeter. Has the kind of unique size and strength to be a matchup problem at the 1A level for the Lakers.
