With a healthy Bartelt in the lineup, KML figures to contend for the Glacier Trails title as coach Joshua Lindner has three starters back from last year's 18-9 squad in seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2935650' first='Jacob' last='Hess'] (6-1) and [player_tooltip player_id='3020520' first='Mason' last='Moths'] (5-11) along with physical junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2618050' first='John' last='Kruse'] (6-7). Hess (11.1 ppg), Moths (7.7 ppg) and Kruse (8.0 ppg) have improved and will benefit greatly from the creativity and passing ability of Bartelt. Lindner also looks for seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2935649' first='Jonah' last='Kruse'] (6-2) and [player_tooltip player_id='3020517' first='Sam' last='Carstensen'] (6-4) to make big contributions for a team that boasts good depth, outside shooting and experience.

2. Sheboygan South -- No other program in the Glacier Trails finished with as much success as the Red Wings at the JV1 and JV2 levels last winter as Sheboygan South went a combined 45-1 at those levels. Of course, the Red Wings also return some key varsity performers from last year's 15-10 squad, including senior [player_tooltip player_id='2416231' first='Solomon' last='Luangsaeng'] (6-2) along with juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2692784' first='Layton' last='Hamilton'] (6-2) and [player_tooltip player_id='2534563' first='Liam' last='Hinn'] (5-10). Hamilton and Hinn played big minutes for coach Jesse Shaw while Luangsaeng provides some senior leadership. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='3598403' first='Caleb' last='Gilliam'] (5-10), [player_tooltip player_id='3595372' first='Parker' last='Ninneman'] (6-2), [player_tooltip player_id='3647016' first='Judson' last='Haag'] (6-2) and [player_tooltip player_id='3832187' first='Will' last='Werner'] (6-2) will compete for starting positions for a Sheboygan South squad that competes with effort and boasts solid team chemistry.

3. Port Washington -- The Pirates were one of the more pleasant surprise teams in the entire state of Wisconsin a year ago as coach Garrett Hoffmann guided Port Washington to a 12-0 league record and 25-2 overall mark. The defending league champions did lose four starters to graduation, but the culture in the program, the desire to get better and the confidence to compete with an edge are all positives and could keep the Pirates among the best teams in the league. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='3076091' first='Will' last='Theisen'] (6-2) is the lone starter back and he averaged 5.6 ppg and 2.1 rpg as a junior. Hoffmann is anticipating bigger things this time around from seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3076080' first='Sawyer' last='Lorier'] (6-4), [player_tooltip player_id='3076086' first='Sam' last='Kiss'] (6-4), [player_tooltip player_id='3076088' first='Mark' last='Krueger'] (6-1), [player_tooltip player_id='3076097' first='Kiya' last='Sullivan'] (5-10) and [player_tooltip player_id='3021774' first='Grayson' last='Allen'] (6-1), all reserves last season. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2821200' first='Jackson' last='Schowalter'] (6-2) and sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='3691982' first='William' last='Merow'] (6-3) and [player_tooltip player_id='2881822' first='Cal' last='Rauch'] (6-3) could also be in the rotation for the Pirates.

4. West Bend West -- This is the final year of separate teams at West Bend West and West Bend East as the two schools will merge in the fall of 2027. The Spartans of West Bend West hope to make it a successful ending behind the return of three starters from a 12-14 squad. Coach Ryan Matenaer, now in his eighth year at West, will rely heavily on seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2935710' first='Cullen' last='Roell'] (6-0), [player_tooltip player_id='2633664' first='Collin' last='Grass'] (6-3) and [player_tooltip player_id='3022862' first='Landon' last='Roecker'] (6-2). Roell averaged 13.7 ppg and 6.1 rpg on the way to being the only underclassmen named to either the first- or second-team all-Glacier Trails teams. A second-team selection, Roell led the Spartans in scoring and is a very good rebounder for a player his size. Grass earned honorable mention all-league recognition after averaging 8.8 ppg and 8.6 rpg while Roecker contributed 7.0 ppg and 6.6 rpg. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='3437744' first='Ronan' last='Novales'] (6-3) also returns for a team that boasts good senior experience, but one that also lacks depth.

5. Plymouth -- Picking the traditionally strong Panthers to finish fifth might be a mistake, but there is no denying the absence of the graduated Kayden Schultz (26.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg) will be a huge hurdle to overcome in 2026-27. With Schultz now playing at NCAA Division II Michigan Tech, Plymouth will turn to some younger players to support seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3021757' first='Augie' last='Eigenberger'] (6-0) and [player_tooltip player_id='3021758' first='Charlie' last='Nass'] (6-2). Eisenberger and Nass started last winter and averaged 8.4 ppg and 9.0 ppg, respectively, and form a solid senior duo for coach Tim Schultz. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2682928' first='Joey' last='Anhalt'] (6-6) also returns to the starting lineup and provides excellent size and strength near the basket. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='3586120' first='Geddy' last='Barnstable'] (6-2), junior [player_tooltip player_id='2403021' first='Tyson' last='Arnold'] (6-2) and sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='3698320' first='Arjen' last='Anderson'] (6-6) and [player_tooltip player_id='2891935' first='Royce' last='Booth'] (6-0) also could be in the mix at Plymouth. Barnstable played on the JV1 team last season after transferring in from Howards Grove and could prove to be a very good scorer for the Panthers.

6. Kewaskum -- Kewaskum did not get a ton of love in the preseason forecast for the Glacier Trails, but coach Tyler Enright's club could very well be the surprise team in the loop as four starters are back from a 7-19 team. Senior lead guard [player_tooltip player_id='2505256' first='Jackson' last='Corbin'] (5-10), who competes with excellent quickness and impressive ball handling, averaged 10.0 ppg and leads the way for the Indians. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='3020526' first='Oliver' last='Grover'] (6-4), [player_tooltip player_id='3497905' first='Carter' last='Unger'] (6-5) and [player_tooltip player_id='2933732' first='Marcus' last='Fleischman'] (6-2) joined Corbin in the starting lineup last winter. Grover and Unger provide a strong inside game while Flesichman is a solid scorer and rebounder. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='3020524' first='Jace' last='Wichtoski'] (6-2), [player_tooltip player_id='3020522' first='Quin' last='Dornacker'] (6-2) and [player_tooltip player_id='3020521' first='Jake' last='Behn'] (6-2) along with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='3722915' first='Kam' last='Derge'] (6-3) also return for a team that has good depth, excellent overall size and a hunger to get better despite having just one senior on the preseason roster.

7. West Bend East -- The Suns did not win a game in league play in 2025-26, but that likely won't be the case in 2026-27 as coach Zach Lindberg has three starters and a few key reserves back from a team that finished 4-21. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2560267' first='Austin' last='Cook'] (5-11), [player_tooltip player_id='2935701' first='Zach' last='Fechter'] (6-3) and [player_tooltip player_id='3022857' first='Alex' last='Matenaer'] (5-11) are returning regulars for West Bend East with Cook leading that group in scoring at 10.0 ppg and Fechter topping the trio in rebounding at 5.1 rpg. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2541704' first='Dylan' last='Brunnbauer'] (6-3), [player_tooltip player_id='3497929' first='Cole' last='Gaffney'] (5-11), [player_tooltip player_id='3497925' first='John' last='Koeper'] (6-1) and [player_tooltip player_id='3497922' first='Brayden' last='Makowski'] (6-1) also return for the Suns, who must overcome a lack of players in the junior class with good shooting and team chemistry.

Top Returning Scorers

[player_tooltip player_id='2935710' first='Cullen' last='Roell'], West Bend West (13.7 ppg)
[player_tooltip player_id='2935650' first='Jacob' last='Hess'], Kettle Moraine Lutheran (11.1 ppg)
[player_tooltip player_id='2560267' first='Austin' last='Cook'], West Bend East (10.3 ppg)
[player_tooltip player_id='2505256' first='Jackson' last='Corbin'], Kewaskum (10.0 ppg)
[player_tooltip player_id='2724390' first='Jake' last='Bartelt'], Kettle Moraine Lutheran (9.2 ppg)
[player_tooltip player_id='3021758' first='Charlie' last='Nass'], Plymouth (9.0 ppg)
[player_tooltip player_id='2633664' first='Collin' last='Grass'], West Bend West (8.8 ppg)

Projected All-Conference Teams
First Team
[player_tooltip player_id='2935650' first='Jacob' last='Hess'], 6-1, Sr., Kettle Moraine Lutheran
[player_tooltip player_id='2724390' first='Jake' last='Bartelt'], 5-11, Sr., Kettle Moraine Lutheran
[player_tooltip player_id='3021757' first='Augie' last='Eigenberger'], 6-0, Sr., Plymouth
[player_tooltip player_id='3076091' first='Will' last='Theisen'], 6-2, Sr., Port Washington
[player_tooltip player_id='2935710' first='Cullen' last='Roell'], 6-0, Sr., West Bend West

Second Team
[player_tooltip player_id='2618050' first='John' last='Kruse'], 6-7, Jr., Kettle Moraine Lutheran
[player_tooltip player_id='2505256' first='Jackson' last='Corbin'], 5-10, Sr., Kewaskum
[player_tooltip player_id='2534563' first='Liam' last='Hinn'], 5-10, Jr., Sheboygan South
[player_tooltip player_id='2633664' first='Collin' last='Grass'], 6-3, Sr., West Bend West
[player_tooltip player_id='3021758' first='Charlie' last='Nass'], 6-2, Sr., Plymouth

The Big Five
Top Shooter: [player_tooltip player_id='3586120' first='Geddy' last='Barnstable'], Plymouth
Top Defender: [player_tooltip player_id='2935710' first='Cullen' last='Roell'], West Bend West
Top Rebounder: [player_tooltip player_id='2633664' first='Collin' last='Grass'], West Bend West
Best Collegiate Prospect: [player_tooltip player_id='2618050' first='John' last='Kruse'], Kettle Moraine Lutheran
Most Improved: [player_tooltip player_id='2692784' first='Layton' last='Hamilton'], Sheboygan South
