There's going to be enough talent to watch this upcoming season in TSSAA Division II Class A. As I mentioned in my last story, there are a good amount of talented guards in the league.

Here are other guards to watch:

[player_tooltip player_id='2194604' first='Aemero' last='Lewis'], Goodpasture: Lewis is a 6-foot-0 guard that's effective on and off the ball. He can get out in transition and finish at the rim through contact. Lewis can make shots from the perimeter. He's dangerous from 3-point range. Leaving him open will be a bad mistake for opposing teams. Lewis shoots with confidence. His confidence is high to the point where he's heading up the court while the basketball is still in the air. Lewis is going to be one of the best guards in DII-A this upcoming season. He's definitely one of the more talented guards in the league.

[player_tooltip player_id='3150167' first='Patrick' last='Thompson'], Lausanne: Thompson is going to be a good complimentary piece to [player_tooltip player_id='2859657' first='Zuri' last='McClure'] in the backcourt. McClure is going to see a lot of attention, which will give Thompson great looks at the rim all game long. He's a lefty guard that can make shots from the perimeter. Thompson shot 42 percent from the field last season while averaging 10.4 points per game. I expect his numbers to be better in 2026 and help the Lynx be competitive and make a deep postseason run late in the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='3532888' first='Brennan' last='Patel'], Tipton-Rosemark Academy: Patel is going to be a double-digit scorer this upcoming season. He's a reliable ball handler and decision maker. Patel will take some attention off of sophomore point guard [player_tooltip player_id='3658644' first='Roman' last='Taylor']. The pairing will do a lot of damage in DII-A. The duo should be good enough to get the Rebels to 20 wins.

Talent at Cordova

The Cordova Wolves will have new faces on their roster this upcoming season, and they are two guys that should thrive under head coach Terrance Scales. From my observations at Tuesday's practice, sophomore guard Cayden Jones can make shots. He's willing to listen and learn, which is a plus. Jones has improved since his arrival at Cordova. He can only get better from here.

Freshman guard Mardre'vion Kizer was one of the most impressive guys on the floor Tuesday. He's another sniper on this Wolves team that's going to be impactful this season. Kizer not only can make shots, but he can get his head above the rim as well. I only saw a glimpse, but he's an early promising prospect to keep an eye on.
