Wisconsin Sophomore ID Camp: Team 10 Evaluation

I felt that Olson had a good showing at The Sophomore ID camp. Solid all-around player, the 6-3 Milwaukee Reagan product showed that not only could he be a force, on the glass, but he could also step out and hit some nice mid/long range jumpers. Defensively he moved his feet well and played good help defense.     Pajerski was one of the more complete guards that I watched on Saturday. Offensively he showed that he could score, in multiple ways, including a variety of dazzling finishes around the hoop while splitting the defense. When cut off, Pajerski showed nice mid-range touch and knocked down multiple 3-balls. Defensively he used active hands, and great anticipation, resulting in several steals and was a handful to box out as he was very active grabbing several boards.     While I have written about Folts before it was primarily focused on his offensive skill set. While that was evident, I was most impressed Saturday by his defense effort. Not conceding anything on defense, Folts emerged as an elite rim protector blocking several shots in each game. Offensively he was a threat knocking down four 3-pointers, in the early game, while making the defense pay if they closed out to aggressively with strong takes to the rim.     Zaemisch earned big minutes last season, for River Valley, and it is easy to see why with his play at The Sophomore ID camp. Showing a balanced game, Zaemisch was equally comfortable weaving through traffic, taking the ball aggressively to the basket as he was stepping out and knocking down long jumpers. Defensively he moved his feet, played with active hands, and was an effective off-ball defender.     Connemara stood out as one of the better defenders that I watched, on Saturday, adept at using his length, and anticipation to frustrate whomever he was guarding. Good, solid glue guy, Connemara did the little things that coaches love, not only playing strong defense, but making smart reads and playing hard all game.     Schwarz stood out, not necessarily due to his scoring ability, but more for how he moved, without the ball, and created space for his teammates. Showed great court vision making some nice passes to cutting teammates hitting them perfectly in stride. He also crashed the boards well and was able to finish over traffic and through contact at the rim.     Very raw prospect, it is easy project the 6-6 Suehs to grow and develop like his 7-foot older brother Jayden. Possessing good length, Suehs immediately has the look as a potential rim protector and flashed a nice 16 foot jumper.     One of the more physical players, Turner definitely plays with a "chip on his shoulder". Explosive first step, Turner gets downhill and can finish with either hand while absorbing contact and delivering punishment. Turner, when given space, was also able to knock down perimeter jumpers and gave the defense fits.     He was not at the Showcase for long but, from what I did see, Bobholz looked the part of a highly ranked big. Effective off of the screen-and-roll, Bobholz made some difficult catches, in traffic and finished well around the rim.
