We recently updated our class of 2028 rankings in the state of Virginia, going to 142 prospects from across the state we believe will be players to keep an eye on moving forward. Obviously the list will change plenty over the next two seasons, but for now here's a look at part two of some of the top juniors in the Richmond area.

#45) Abdoul Tahirou | 6'10” C | Amelia Academy

Tahirou is very much still a project as he's only been playing basketball going on three years now, but when you watch him play you see all the potential in the world if it every clicks for him in a few years. He's a legit 6'10” and while he's still rail thin he will put on weight with diet and weight training, he has great touch on the perimeter with the ability to knock down shots from deep and in the midrange, he has improved a lot in his timing as a shot blocker, and as he gets stronger and is able to get more physical he'll be a nightmare for teams to matchup with.

#49) Justin Golden | 5'11” PG | Henrico

Golden is stepping into a situation at Henrico where he'll likely be one of their top options as both a playmaker and a scorer, and after a very good summer he looks like he's ready to make that happen. The 5'11” lead guard has natural instincts to his game that you can't teach, he plays with great pace changing speeds and has good burst to get by defenders, he can create space and make shots from all three levels off the bounce, and he has a good IQ as a playmaker too.

#61) Javarius Thurston | 5'9” PG | TPLS

Thurston was a standout at Hermitage the last couple of seasons before transferring to TPLS this summer, and he's one of those players where you don't want to judge a book by its cover. What he lacks in size he makes up for with blazing speed in the open floor and a lightning quick first step, he brings a relentless motor on both ends but particularly in his ability to pick up and guard full court, he can knock down shots from all over off the catch or off the bounce, and he has great vision and passing ability to get his teammates easy buckets.

#66) Jabril Scott | 6'4” SF | Cristo-Rey

Scott has been a force in bring Cristo-Rey basketball to life as one of the newer schools in Richmond, and he's an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on over the next two seasons. He was fantastic as a sophomore showing his versatility in stuffing the stat sheet, he uses his strong frame to get downhill and finish through contact, he can knock down open shots from deep, and he is a versatile defender who will guard the other team's best player while also contributing on the glass too.

#67) Peyton Hicks | 6'3” SG | Matoaca

Hicks has been a starter for Matoaca since the day he stepped on campus, and he's ready to be the guy for them this year with the chance to be one of the better players in Richmond this season. The 6'3” off guard can fill it up in a lot of ways as he's excellent getting to spots in the midrange with a pretty pull-up, he can knock it down from deep with good range, he is a good finisher through contact with both hands, and he plays with a chip on both ends with the ability to get in the heads of opponents and frustrate them.

#75) Obi Pinn | 6'2” PG | St. Chris

Pinn was nothing short of fantastic for Mills Godwin last year as their do everything point guard, and this summer he decided to transfer to St. Chris to reclassify and continue to develop before college. At 6'2” he has good positional size and uses it to see over smaller guards and deliver all kinds of passes, he can knock it down from deep with consistency off the catch and off the bounce, he has a high IQ and good instincts on both ends of the floor, and he can toggle between roles whether he's needed to score or impact the game in other ways.
