Sophomore ID Camp: Team 5 Evals

We are getting close to wrapping up our coverage of this year's Prep Hoops Sophomore ID Camp. Now we turn our attention to Team 5 which had a handful of eye-catching performers throughout the day, and players making plays in every phase of the game. Check out our Team 5 evaluations and get ready for our final team breakdown with Team 4 coming soon.    Brown is a kid at 6-foot-4 who has the length and sneaky bounce to be a factor on the glass. He showcased his fight and hustle inside, pulling down boards on both ends, and giving those second and third efforts to go after every rebound he could. Also had some nice moments driving in to the hoop, and looks like a capable straight line slasher when he plays strong and utilizes high pickups to get through traffic.     Hamilton was very impressive with his passing ability and the pace he injected into his team. Made a number of key passes in transition and out ahead of the defense, hitting teammates in stride and fitting the ball through tight passing windows. Also did a great job reading ball screen defense, staying patient and understanding how to keep some separation in order to find his man through different windows. One of the better distributors I saw at the event and really elevated his team when he was at the helm.     Bell displayed a very consistent shot from 3-point range throughout the day, giving his team a reliable option to space the floor and punish slow defenses. Showed some quickness too that put some pressure on transition defenses and allowed him to get to the paint. Had a few nice dishes off those paint touches where he was able to anticipate cuts behind his drives.     Gorr is a quick guard with some creative moves who was able to get his defender leaning one way, then burst the other direction to get into driving lanes and create. Did some nice playmaking, but also did well to make the simple play and not force the ball into tough spots. Has a good shot from long range and also showed off some active hands on defense to get some deflections and pokes.     Battersby is an interesting player who has decent size at 6-foot-3, and a pretty smooth and deceptive handle that allowed him to work to different spots and attack. Displayed a good stroke from the midrange, and also was pretty insistent on getting depth and using some physicality to get little bits of separation for shots in close. Has some craft to his game too, utilizing pump fakes, and picking out a few cutters from different areas on the floor.     Zowader is a strong kid who was able to get downhill off the bounce and power his way to the hoop. Showed the ability to hold off defenders on his drives, maintain his line, and then finish through contact at the rim. Also made some great reads to cut off the ball and recognize the space he had on receiving the rock to either go up quick, or get to a strong base and play off two.     Physically one of the most imposing players at the event. Williams has an advanced physical makeup that allowed him to play controlled in tight spots and constantly get to the rim. Had a few highlight dunks, made one sweet behind the back dish to a streaking teammate for an assist, and had several other moments highlighting his high-level potential. Made some great early reads in transition too, giving the ball up early and getting ready to get it back.     Epeneter put together a great day at the event, showcasing his versatility and high impact as a 6-foot-6 wing who can do a little of it all on the court. First, used his size and hustle to be a big factor on the offensive glass, also stayed ready and aggressive on the defensive end to go attack shots and had several big blocks. Offensively, he showed he can step outside, knock down threes, run the break, and make some key passes from different spots. Very impressive camp for the Northwest Christian sophomore.     The big man from Issaquah is another kid who showed off his high potential. Sent back a number of shots in close, coming from the help side, walling up in the post, and chasing down drives from behind. Also displayed some patience when operating from the blocks and around multiple defenders, using solid footwork and a good off hand to finish from different angles inside.
