Pumas Fall League: 2027 Standouts

The Pumas Fall League continued this morning at the Bill McDonald Athletic Complex and in this article I'll break down my 2027 standouts from Saturday's action.

It was nice to see the recent Marshall commit back on the court and fully healthy after having to miss July with an injury. Cochran is the lone Division I commit in the league and looks different than anybody who shared the court with him on Saturday. Cochran had some monster dunks in transition and off simple dribble drive attacks, keeping the ball high on dunks where the defense couldn't contest. Cochran also controlled the rebounding battle and finished some key layups for his team on the interior.

Turner had a nice day as the switchable wing forward defended multiple positions, switched onto players in ball screen coverage and grabbed a lot of rebounds. Turner also put in work on the interior as a scorer with numerous two foot finishes, staying on balance. A glue guy for Dublin Coffman, Turner has the length and motor to be a strong rebounder and defender for the Shamrocks this winter as they look to contend in the loaded OCC.

The last Dublin Coffman shoutout of this article, Krumpak does a nice job playing off other talented pieces. As a spot-up shooter Krumpak doesn't crowd the paint for his teammates to drive and can hit a pump fake fly by jumper if the defense closes out too hard late. Krumpak also gets the ball to the studs on his team in positions to score and doesn't turn the ball over, a key skill for a low usage shooter.

Mills had a monster day on Saturday with some huge scoring performances to lead his team. Mills is a slippery driver of the basketball and I really like his footwork and patience in the paint. Mills had some tough step through finishes and also made some slick flashy passes when his drives were stopped by help side defenders. Impressive day for Mills who has been a consistent bright spot during the fall league.

Bibler had some strong performances in a pair of victories for his team as he was looking to get to the paint off the dribble early and often. Bibler played strong on finishes in the paint going through contact to score. Bibler also had some nice dribble moves where he split the defense off the dribble to score at the rim. Strong performance from Bibler that impacted winning.

One of the top shooters in the gym, Cox was heating up today with numerous 3-pointers off the catch. Spacing the floor well for his team, Cox showed his extended range from beyond the arc and showed no hesitation to fire away from long distance. Recently posting an offer from Mount Vernon Nazarene, Cox's shooting ability has gotten him on the radar of small college programs. I'll be looking for Cox to make an impact in more other ways on the court during the last few weeks of fall league action.
