September 12th-13th I attended the Pangos AA Frosh/Soph prestigious annual camp at McBride HS in Long Beach/CA. 160 players took the court for two days versus some of the better younger talent in the West Coast. We had many local players show out and we first take a look at some of the

One of the more imposing players in attendance happened to be an 8th grader. He is very nimble and mobile for his size with surprisingly good skill and easy bounce. He handles the ball well for his size and will score it every way with step backs off the dribble from the three, hook shots, offensive rebound put backs, alley-oop dunks and his ability to move in space is remarkable. He was the 10th highest scorer per game with 19.3.

A true post player with great size and length to go along with his massive hands and feet. He will score with reverse layups, offensive rebound put backs, drop steps and will seal his defender to score. He is a good passer from the high post and rebounds everything near him plus is a top end shot blocker. He was #1 in the entire camp with 4.3 blocks per game.

A face-up five-man was the second tallest player in attendance. He made the top-60 game and showed he can play from inside and out. He will rebound the ball at a good clip and then and alter or block shots. He will score with dunks, fall aways in the post, mid-range jumpers and threes off the catch. He was 17th in blocks at 1 per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='3767852' first='Devon' last='Baker'] AZ Compass Prep

A newcomer for me is an inside and out threat. He started his high school career at Fountain Hills and transferred to AZ Compass Prep. The lefty can shoot it to the three point line off the catch and then works inside to score with layups and dunks. He rebounds well in his area and shot the ball at 70% with a low volume of attempts.

A high motored wing forward plays and defends multiple positions. He is very athletic and aggressive and rebounds anything near him in and out of his area. He will score it with threes off the catch, mid-range pull-ups, fall aways and dunk it above the rim on the break. He was the 7th highest scorer with 21ppg.

[player_tooltip player_id='3659677' first='Ezekiel' last='Ifejeh'] Bella Vista Prep

One of the stronger power forwards in attendance. He scores thru contact with and-1's inside the paint, hook shots, dunks, bully ball takes, he handles it well and is super powerful to get to the basket. He is a strong two-handed rebounder and can flush it down. He was 15th best rebounder at 6.7 per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2575862' first='AJ' last='Jabateh'] Bella Vista Prep

A long wing forward can play a few positions in a pinch. He is a long strider to get to the basket and is great on the break with a nice layup package. He can hit the three off the catch, mid-range jumpers off the dribble after he creates the necessary separation and he was 20th best rebounder at 6.2 per game.
