Midwest Fall League: Week 1 Standouts

With a handful of time and space 3-pointers, Darbyshire was connecting on a high percentage of his open looks. Darbyshire also showed craftiness on the interior, using pivots and the rim as protection on reverse layups. I liked that Koppenhoefer used a variety of finishes at the rim and played through contact. I also liked how Koppenhoefer never looked rushed on the court, making smart decisions with the ball in his hands and taking high percentage shots. My first three notes on him were about a contested rebound, a blocked shot and an outlet pass assist. Once his team went on a scoring run to pull away from the opposition, Sper was the guy getting putback layups, hitting turnaround jumpers and making coast to coast drive and finishes. One of the stronger players I saw all day, Kaiser had some toughness plays where he secured rebounds and moved opponents out of the paint. Scott set up an impressive amount of teammates with open 3-point looks as his unselfishness stood out. Scott usually created those looks off drive and kick plays and when the help defense didn't rotate to force him to give it up, he usually scored at the rim.
