Highfill Hoops Under the Radar Camp Standouts Pt. 2

The Highfill Hoops x Assist Invitational was a major success, bringing together some of the top players from across the state of VA under one roof. Over 15 college coaches attended, and more than 65 players participated on the day. The camp featured some highly sought-after players and some under-the-radar guys from Virginia who deserve more attention moving forward. D'Mari was an under-the-radar prospect heading into camp, but he quickly showed why he's a versatile guard that deserves more recognition moving forward. He plays with great pace and athleticism, with a quick first step, and is able to attack off the bounce and score in transition. I was very impressed with his aggressiveness on both sides of the ball and how he was able to make an impact on or off the ball. A very good defender with great length, which he used to create deflections throughout the event. A prospect college coaches should consider moving forward with as he prepares for a major Senior season. Markel Cason is a physical, shifty combo guard/wing who can score at all three levels. He attacks the basket hard when driving downhill and finishes well through contact. He has a smooth, reliable jumper that makes him a versatile threat, forcing opposing teams to respect his drive and his solid shooting. His length, physicality, and versatility allow him to defend multiple positions. With more development, expect him to be someone college coaches will take a look at. oving forward. Elijah Grundy may be a new name for most, but that won't last long with his long-term upside and his size and length. He is still developing, but he continues to make strides in expanding his overall game. He has the ability to stretch the floor 15 feet and beyond, displays solid post footwork, and uses his length and athleticism well to alter shots around the rim. He plays physical inside, and continued development and adding strength will help take his game to a whole new level. Jordan Tucker was one of the standout performers and won the Rising Star award, which he showcased his dynamic combination of athleticism and scoring abilities. He had a monster summer for Team Loaded and continued that productivity into the fall. He lives above the rim at the event, scoring in transition, knocking down perimeter shots, and mid-range jumpers. He will have a major sophomore year for Manchester and will be a name college coaches will want to track moving forward. [player_tooltip player_id='3659537' first='Will' last='Zaudtke'] is a player who has quickly established himself as a player to know in the Richmond area. He displayed that once again at the event, showing his upside as a versatile and athletic wing who can score inside, in transition, or by knocking down perimeter shots. He is a very versatile defender, being able to guard multiple positions with his size and length. It'll be exciting to see him continue to develop and become more consistent and dominant. Will is set to have a breakout Junior year at Glen Allen High School, stepping up into a larger role.
