EXPO 2026: 5th Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Saturday, September 5th&nbsp;<strong>Prep Hoops Arizona</strong>&nbsp;had the annual&nbsp;<strong>EXPO Showcase</strong>&nbsp;which was hosted at Inspire Courts in Gilbert, AZ. We had 64 players from the 2027-2029 classes who were competing in a few games of 5 on 5.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This article is&nbsp;<strong>not a prospect ranking</strong>&nbsp;but how productive they were at the camp when I viewed them.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Here is the 5th Team</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2816634' first='Kessington' last='Cole'] Goodyear</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An undersized real point guard who is very shifty with a tighter handle. He can maneuver the defense to find his target to make the play and will slither down the lane to score. He will score on jumpers from the perimeter and plays the game the right way.&nbsp;He should be one of the go-to players at Goodyear. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2907164' first='Scott' last='Henderson'] North</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A combo guard who can play off of the pick and roll game to make a play. He will score with threes, downhill take with some quickness and has good length to rebound and grab the 50/50 balls.&nbsp;He may be one of the top newcomers in all of 5A. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2790157' first='Jayden' last='Holifield'] McClintock</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A transfer from Washington is a combo guard who plays with aggression. He will dart downhill in traffic with a nice handle and earn trips often to the free throw line. He is a very good on-ball defender with super quick feet and hands and rebounds well despite his size.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2615844' first='Ivan' last='Huckaby'] Agua Fria&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring point guard plays a cerebral game. He will score it with threes off the catch or off the dribble. Pull-ups from mid-range and smartly moves without the ball to score and will flash to the basket. He is a quick on-ball defender with his speed.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2849309' first='Quinten' last='Spurgeon'] Centennial&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A good size point guard who is unselfish and will make the extra pass 9 out of 10 times. He can also score with layups bursting down the lane, offensive rebound put backs and catch and shoot threes.&nbsp;A newcomer for me could be a star on JV then play on varsity next year with a deep program of talent.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2888700' first='Shameer' last='Stump'] Coolidge (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A true two-way guard is a top of the line defender. His twitch, quickness and athleticism combined with his length keeps players in front of him. He will rebound and block shots. He is a sneaky good passer and will score with dribble drives to the basket with his left or right hand, he is a capable three point shooter and can throw it down easily on the break. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3662961' first='Amare' last='Williams'] Tucson</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger combo guard with upside. He is very competitive on defense with grabbing rebounds and keeping his opponents in front of him. He is an unselfish passer to pass into the post and he will score with dribble drives to the rim and he is a more than capable three point shooter. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2692800' first='Jayden' last='Wong'] Higley</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A bigger combo guard is highly skilled and crafty. He will score with threes off the catch or pull, he will fall away from his defender from the post or rise up from mid-range. He is a smart passer playing from the neck up.&nbsp;He will be a great addition to the Knights. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
