CP3 Rising Stars National Camp: Superlative Awards (Volunteers)

Winston-Salem, NC — The 14th annual CP3 Rising Stars National Camp gave Class of 2030 prospects from across the country an opportunity to compete in Winston-Salem. The camp combined station work and skill development with five-on-five play, allowing our staff to evaluate players in several different settings. From individual skill sets to decision-making, defensive ability and overall production, the competition provided a detailed look at what each prospect had to offer. As our team-by-team coverage of the CP3 Rising Stars National Camp continues, we shift our focus to the Volunteers and several players who performed well throughout the camp... JJ Smith showed why he is considered one of the top athletes in the Class of 2030 at the CP3 Rising Stars National Camp. His explosiveness consistently translated around the basket, where he played above the rim and finished with power in traffic. Smith's athletic tools gave him a physical advantage in several areas, particularly when attacking downhill or getting out in transition. His ability to turn athletic plays into consistent production was a major part of his impact throughout the camp. Cidel Teves excelled as a primary ball-handler at the CP3 Rising Stars National Camp. He played with control when initiating offense and consistently surveyed the floor for openings in the defense. Teves used his handle to work past defenders and get into areas where he could create for himself or set up teammates. His ability to generate advantages off the dribble gave his team a productive option with the ball in his hands. Daniel Okam established himself as a high-level on-ball defender at the CP3 Rising Stars National Camp. He applied consistent pressure at the point of attack, moved his feet well and made opposing players work to create space against him. Okam played with an aggressive and tenacious approach, using his defensive instincts to disrupt possessions and cause turnovers. Much of his value came on that end of the floor, where his ability to contain his assignment gave his team a significant advantage. Deion Jordan showcased his ability as a high-level rebounder at the CP3 Rising Stars National Camp. He consistently pursued the basketball off the rim, using good instincts and strong timing to put himself in position to secure boards. Jordan rebounds at an advanced level for a player his age and provided his team with a consistent presence on the glass. His work on both ends helped finish defensive possessions while creating additional opportunities offensively. Tristan Ariza proved to be a consistent scoring threat at the CP3 Rising Stars National Camp, with his shooting serving as one of the strongest parts of his game. He knocked down perimeter shots at a high rate and looked comfortable finding his offense from different areas of the floor. Ariza continues to progress as a scorer while becoming more polished in how he creates quality looks. His shot-making remains a valuable part of his offensive game as he continues to develop. Grayson Graf provided plenty of value from the scoring guard position at the CP3 Rising Stars National Camp. He found different ways to produce offensively, creating scoring opportunities while playing effectively with or without the basketball. Graf also contributed defensively, where his versatility allowed him to handle different assignments on the perimeter. His ability to contribute in multiple areas gave him a well-rounded impact whenever he was on the floor. Stay tuned for more from Coast 2 Coast Preps!
