Burlington PG Troy Over is Earning Opportunity

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id='3028577' first='Troy' last='Over'] led his team to a 21-5 record last season and a runner up finish in the state tournament. Troy then went and had an excellent season for the SSA Hoops White 17U team. We caught up with Troy so he could tell us all about it! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"The summer season went really well, on my (17U) team and high school summer team," Troy explained. "Our summer team definitely worked on things we need for season and all got better finding our roles and playing them well. My AAU season also went well, especially for developing me. Some highlights of my summer was getting (honored) multiple weeks for shooting or playing making. Also, I made all second team RL Circuit."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>What is next for Over? Getting ready for the winter, his senior year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"My goals are to stay in the gym and get my shots really consistent and also be in the weight room getting stronger and more agile," Troy explained. "Plus, working on ball handling as well."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In addition to his senior season, Troy has to prepare for the next phase of life, college. And with college comes college basketball, and Troy has opportunity there. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I've gone to campus and done workouts with Baker and Tabor and had a chance to meet the guys on the team and visit with their coaches quite a bit about my future. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I also have offers from Bethany and Southwestern and have corresponded with their coaches as well," Over continued." I have gone to some camps this fall and have connected with other coaches also. I'm really focused on finding the right fit. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I also picked up my first junior college offer with Independence Community College."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over led his team to state scoring 11 points a game and averaging nearly four rebounds and four assists a contest. He talked with Prep Hoops Kansas about what type of player he is. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I'm a small point guard (at 5'10) who plays big by getting into the paint and finishing or making plays for teammates. I play with a motor and is always on the go. I play with max effort on defense and communicate at a high level. I'm consistent from three and pass extremely well. I have good defensive instincts and often I'm handed with the task of guarding opponents best player. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I play unselfish basketball and take care of the ball always. I have high basketball IQ and can read offenses or defenses quickly. I'm dangerous when coming off screens and creating for myself and others. I knock down shots from all three levels."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Everything that Over explained about his game is what the tape reveals as well, and Troy is the type of player a coach loves to have in the lockerroom and leading the team on the court. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
