The Class of 2029 is just two months away from sophomore season. Most of the players ranked highly either played varsity as a freshman or impressed during the previous 15u summer. It is quite possible some of the players in this pack play point guard in college.
Arden Lewis, Rio Curry, and Terrell Cole all possess adept ball-handling. They can all dribble above average now. It gets tricky though because Rio and Arden shoot so well from deep and Terrell rebounded like a warrior at the Class A State Tournament in March. Rio thrives as a second guard right now and he did with BMaze 15u over the summer. An opponent's father raved about Curry's ability to hit shots as BMaze 15u tipped off based entirely on the two teams' previous battle a week prior. Curry dominated as a freshman for Christ Academy of Knoxville (CAK) and considered transferring to reigning State Champions Providence Christian Academy (PCA) though instead picked Hardin Valley Academy closer to home. The step up in opponents will be a new challenge for Curry, but he is a better player than he was just eight months ago. A floor of 10 ppg, 2 apg and 40 made three-pointers feels doable in Year Two.
Arden Lewis is abnormally strong for a sophomore guard. With STARS 15u Lewis shared lead guard duties with Decari Parks. Both did a bit of everything. Parks drove to the tin, shot a little from deep, defended the primary. Arden ran halfcourt offense capably against top compettion, hit big shots, buried three-pointers and generally played with composure in high stress situations. Lewis plays combo guard smoothly though his future position could be either depending on his final height.

Public vs. Private
Frequently the top 20 players in each class are largely dressing for private schools because private schools do their best to draw the talent coming out of middle school, but this bunch features a stronger than usual public school troop.

Price Harden - Tullahoma
Only two of these programs (Tullahoma, Kirkwood) have a recent history of consistent winning. With high end talent like Jaxon Primus, Arden Lewis, and Rio Curry that trend will change right quick for East Hamilton, Rockvale, and Harden Valley Academy respectively.

Francis Nwoye and his older brother John Nwoye transferred from Hume-Fogg to Ensworth School since last season. It was not expected considering Michael Nwoye played and graduated from Hume-Fogg as a member of the Class of 2025. The family had deep ties with the school and the program, so this was a big blow. Ensworth will not shed any tears though. With the move from PUBLIC to PRIVATE Francis currently is the #1 SG prospect starting against his hypothetical team as imagined in this scenario. Nwoye might not be able to hold that spot though. The basketball world is abuzz with the potential of Ben Freije.
Just this week Ben unofficially visited the University of Illinois and D1 offers keep surging through his phone. You need to picture an old-timey phone with a giant receiver. Freije holds the phone to his ear and coach after coach describes how they would love to have him be a part of the basketball program. And they are extending a verbal offer.
